Kids bedrooms can be fun but also tricky with making it functional as well as comfortable… here’s what I found is helpful when putting together kids’ bedrooms…
✨ Use vertical space for storage and decor by using walls for books, toys, hats, etc.
✨ Use a large padded rug to create cozy and soft play space
✨ Play with 1-2 patterns, mix small with large
✨ Use 3-4 colors for your color palette, using different shades of light/dark for depth and airyness
✨ Display favorites, conceal excess.
✨ Have an organization SYSTEM like cubbies, containers, for everything stored. Having a closet doesn’t guarantee organization
✨ Play with different textures (woven accents, natural fibers, leather, woods, etc)
✨ Don’t be afraid to mix & match! You can mix 2 shades of wood, 2 different metals, and also beds/ nightstands don’t have to match!
✨ Make it personal! Display the child’s name, their favorite animal or create a theme for the room!
✨ Keep it safe… attach dressers/cabinets to the wall, minimize sharp edges, encourage rough play if needed with bean bag or foam chairs!
