A building on a narrow parcel of land in Long Island, New York. Structured like a barn, though with a single pitched roof, repetitively from front to back with, and cuts that comply with setback regulations. A 20 foot ceiling peak that tapers down to 8 feet intimate and open. The distinction between private and public, commercial and residential, is not just blurred but removed. The school is a home and the home is a school.

Inspired by our current exhibition “Port + Harbor: Preservation, Not Speculation” by Sabina Streeter, Floyd Memorial Library will be holding a panel discussion on this topic on Saturday, January 13 at 3pm.
