Why do we have a pride month yet, only a Memorial Day?

This isn't an anti-gay rant. This is just simple, not understanding the world we live in. In one hand, you have people that have made a choice and decided to be with this person of the same s*x. I know there are lots of arguments about people not making that choice and just being born that way. Fine, I can accept that. I know several people who are gay and I'm totally cool with that.

But, we have men and women that made the choice to give their lives for our freedoms. Yet they only get one day.. why not have a memorial month and a pride day. That just seems so much more fitting to me.

As a Veteran myself, I know the thoughts that go through the minds of those who fight and serve to bring us, and maintain, our freedoms.

On this Memorial Day, I celebrate those who have given me my freedoms.... But I won't stop celebrating them today.
