Sometimes changing direction doesn’t mean you failed—it just means you realized there’s a different path that fits your life better.
I earned my doctorate in education fully believing that classroom teaching was what I would do forever. And for a long time, it was. But eventually, I realized the path I was on wasn’t what was right for me or my family anymore.
I’m still incredibly passionate about education, and I feel so blessed that I get to continue that work in a different way—on my own terms. And now, I also get to create, build something of my own, and have the flexibility to be there for my family.
Turns out, you really can decide “that’s enough of that” and choose a new direction. Your education, experience, and everything you’ve worked for doesn’t disappear—you just get to decide what you do with it next. 🤍
