My view for working this morning!

DO NOT ADD LANDSCAPE FABRIC.

Owner added mulch every year after. Waste of time and material.

Use fabric only for rock to prevent sinking into soil.

Add Preen, water in 15 minutes and reapply with hand broadcaster, not theirs, after 3 months.

Saves TIME and $$$$

Tip on caring for stella d'aro:

We all love the ever blooming stellas. However, there is a key to keep the bloom cycle fir the season.

Many are not aware of the importance of deadheading stellas. If not completed in a timely manner, they will cease to bloom for season.

Have numbered on pic 1 open bloom, pic 2 young bud is elongnated, and 3 expired bloom which has been pollinated and now a seed head appears to be a 3 sectioned ball.

If the seed head is not removed, the plant will extend its nutrients to the pod and not producing new flower stalks. Gently pop these buds off!

Lilacs are done blooming so it’s time to prune back the faded blooms. Remove the finished blooms all the way back to the next set of leaves on the stem. This will promote fresh blooms next year.

It is important to know how to care for your plants after they bloom to keep them coming back more beautiful each year.
