Celebrating 6 Years of Pasque Architecture!

My clients make every day of work a joy. Every project introduces new stories that shape the purpose of the design.

But the reason I started my own firm runs deeper than dream clients and dream projects (though I’m grateful for those too).

I started Pasque Architecture because I wanted to be fully present for my growing family.

So while the countdown of professional accomplishments is something I’m proud of… the personal countdown tells my real story.

6 years running my own architecture firm and staying connected with extended family 5 people who matter most to me every day 4 national parks explored with our girls 3-day weekends to breathe in the small moments 2 seasons of the Flying Solo Podcast 1 God whose grace makes it all possible

Six years ago I had no idea two more daughters would join our family, bringing our total up to six.

I also didn’t expect that by working part-time for myself, I could still bring in revenue comparable to my corporate salary. AND I get something far more valuable: freedom, responsibility, and incredible relationships with clients.

I’m most grateful to share it all with Rob, and to live this life together serving the one true God. We share wonderful adventures with our girls through annual road trips, weekly hosting, and daily dinners.

It hasn’t been perfect, and I’m certainly not the most qualified entrepreneur. And frankly, it isn't the easiest thing. But some things are worth the effort.

The last 6 years have allowed me to test my wings and I hope to keep flying high!

If you’re curious about different ways to start a firm and secure meaningful projects, I hope you’ll listen to the incredible stories from other architects on the Flying Solo Podcast.

Last week I took my girls to the new Bell Museum in St. Paul. The original was built in 1940 and sat near the Architecture Building (Rapson Hall) on the Minneapolis Campus.

I loved seeing the dioramas take on new life in this incredible building! We jumped into membership because we couldn't see it all in one trip.

The Bell Natural History Museum is a treasure of knowledge and hands on fun. did a fantastic job with the new location! We've only seen it in winter - can't wait to walk through the gardens and roof deck once the snow melts!

Happy New Year!

It is a joy to celebrate 5 years running my own solo practice! Special thanks to my husband for supporting this endeavor and surprised me with this trophy at Christmas!

Cheers to all my collaborators and great clients! We've been very busy! And 2026 will be an exciting year!

Can a museum go too far?

How can your museum attract more visitors? Is there anything you can do that is too much?

People respect authenticity - even if a museum builds its exhibits on the backs of props from and 6pop culture and movie references.

The Volo Museum took on an additive approach - if they could add another vintage car, another movie scene, another pop culture reference - then they would.

When they filled one building, they built another - then another - they did this again and again until Volo became an ever expanding experience.

We spent hours wandering the antique mall, the halls of history, old/ rentable collectible cars, and using tokens on old dime store kiddy rides.

The Volo strategy works. Even in late December, the museums were full of families and tourists of all ages reliving childhood or firming memories as parents enjoyed explaining each TV show and movie reference.

Push your museum to the max. Be the best it can be for what it is. People will love seeing it!

Last week, I painted this mural in a Church nursery.

Part of a memorial fund went towards refreshing the church nursery. It has turned into a beautiful way for the church to remember the congregant who was called home to heaven.

This wall of the toddler room captures some of the colors added in the nursery garden. The trees create a great backdrop for new camping toys and train sets.

The inspiration was a balance of abstract shapes and realistic tree typologies.

Next up in the project:
1️⃣ Replace the Carpet
2️⃣ Improved toy Storage
3️⃣ Reading Nook

Scott County Historical Society

Great county historical society in a beautiful building. The People & Places exhibit has quite a few humorous gems!

The museum has recently adapted its admission policy to make the museum more accessible to people in the community!

With weekly site meetings, it can be hard to get excited about all the little things getting done. But sometimes you hit benchmarks. And you have to capture a picture perfect moment - where everyone is smiling - because we're seeing big progress.

This week the HVAC units got installed onsite. Fun to see the new roof and ready to go with solar in a few weeks!

Special thanks to our client .movement, Isenberg & Associates (Primary Architect), and our contractor Oasis Group. It's been great to be your co-architect on this project! God's provision is over this project.
