Just visited this recently completed little gem. We designed a new outdoor room for clients in Golden Valley. Frank and Traci spend hours out here just like we suspected they would. Love the motorized screens!

I've been filling up peoples back yards a lot lately (with porches and gazebos) . This gazebo was a part of a larger interior remodeling project for a delightful couple in Golden Valley. They expect to host many gatherings in this outdoor living room. It was lovingly constructed by Terra Firma Builders and Remodelers. Landscape design by Ian Lammers with Watercourse Design. Here's a few photo's of a porch I designed (photo's supplied by my clients). Love the nighttime drama. This was such a fun project from beginning to end. Thanks to James Wilson with Terra Firma for building this with such care and craftsmanship.

I realized I hadn't shared with my Facebooks Friends for a while and thought it time to post some updates (lest you think I was sitting idle). These are 3 projects that are on the boards right now. A small new house in Sommerset Wisconsin for a young couple, an addition to a small cabin for a soon to be retired couple with Property on the Cannon River, and a small bump-out housing a new kitchen and a sunroom in the University Grove in Falcon Heights. Having fun with all three of these and delighting in the process of creating new spaces to live and grow with these great clients.

I was excited to receive this photo from my client showing the progress on our cabin project on Lake Vermillion. The exterior siding work is almost done and we are shifting our focus to the interiors. As it is on an island, they are hoping to get a little farther along before the ferry's stop running at the end of this month and they have to shut down for the winter.

Larger homes present their own unique design and planning challenges. This home, at 12,000 square feet, is the largest home that I've design by a fair margin. We designed the home in 2012 and it was constructed in 2013/14. It is located on the crest of a narrow hill, forcing us to position the house and garage at 90 degrees to one another and we still ended up pushing the back wall of the garage down the hill a bit. We tried very hard to not have the mass of the house overpower the site and setting. Carefully modulating the roof form and settling the home into the landscape with porches and terraces. I think it fits it's surroundings quite nicely. How about you...?

A Timothy Fuller Architects Update:

So... how's it working with a Stay at Home order and Social Distancing protocols in place?

Can we work together without being together? Absolutely!

Using Zoom, Skype or whatever other type of video software clients prefer, combined with the use of Computer Aided Design software (CAD), we can make good progress on projects even though we are unable to meet face to face.

“Screen Sharing” is key. Clients can view my desktop and interact (virtually) with 3D designs in real time. Essentially no different than if you were in my office or I was in your living room.

It’s not ideal, but it’s definitley not a deal breaker either.

Give me a call and let me show you how we can create together in this time of Social Distancing. It really works

Having fun working with a delightful couple on this Lakeside home in Southwestern Minnesota. They have a modified "A Frame" that his parents built in the 70's. Soon it will be their retirement home. The original house is on the right in this sketch, the addition on the left, with a new connecting link in between. I should add that I worked with these folks 16 years ago on a much bigger addition that was never built do too a number of circumstances. Never too late to revisit and revise. We think we've got a winner this time.
