Congratulations to Tim Clemmons, Senior Principal and founder of PLACE Architecture, on receiving a 2026 Downtown Achievement Award from the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership. Thank you to SPDP board members and long-time friends, Matt Walker and Lisa Wannemacher, who presented the award recognizing Tim's thoughtful contributions to the design and development of downtown St. Pete and his more than 35 years of architectural excellence.

PLACE Architecture's recently completed project, The Cordova Inn, was also honored with a Downtown Achievement Award as a "transformative" project for downtown St. Pete. Congratulations to the PLACE project team (Elizabeth Acosta, Heather Ainsworth, Zack Faza, Greg Glenn, Eric LaMunion, and Van Phrasavath) and our partners at the New Hotel Collection for this recognition. A special thank you to Manny Leto, Executive Director of Preserve the 'Burg, and Peter Boyd, President of Reno Boyd Building Co. who presented the award to Tommy Del Zoppo, CEO of New Hotel Collection.

Happy Groundbreaking Day! Yesterday marked the official groundbreaking event for The Cade on Mirror Lake with Mayor Ken Welch and the Backstreets Capital team. The PLACE project team was excited to join the celebration as construction on The Cade is underway!

Construction is officially underway on one of our latest projects! The Cade is a seven-story, 15-unit condominium building overlooking historic Mirror Lake in downtown St. Petersburg. The Cade’s design is inspired by the adjacent 1936 home by early St. Pete developer Cade Allen, as well as other neighborhood landmarks.

The developer behind The Salvador and The Nolen has broken ground on its latest downtown St. Pete project, featuring 15 large residences.

One of our latest affordable housing projects is now complete! Skyway Lofts II brings 66 new apartments to the expanding Skyway Marina District in St. Petersburg. We value our partnership with Blue Sky Communities in helping provide affordable housing for our community.

During last month's Architecture Month, the team at PLACE Architecture toured The Nolen, one of the firm's recently completed projects. Located at 126 4th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, the 23-story condominium is defined by expansive parabolic arches framed in coquina stone. The building is named in honor of early urban planner John Nolen, who drafted St. Petersburg's first comprehensive city plan.

One year ago, Place Architecture was awarded through a City of St. Petersburg, Florida public RFQ process to be the Architecture firm to design a new Enoch Davis Center and James Weldon Johnson Library. We are now gearing up Community Engagement and Schematic Design. We have created a survey for user input and on September 17th there will be a Public Forum at the Enoch Davis Center. Please share with anyone who uses the center and/or library.

Place will be architect of record and we are joined by Lake Flato Architects as Design Architect, Dix.Hite + Partners and 720_design as leads during the community engagement process. VoltAir Consulting Engineers will provide MEP engineering services, Thornton Tomasetti will provide Structural Engineering services and Vickstrom Engineering will provide Civil Engineering services. IBA Consultants, Inc. will be Exterior Envelope consultants.
