This year my teepee is branch /brush storage I'm sure the decomposers will love it and likely my black racers.

I've been working on my spring cutting back and 2 years of clean up to reset the garden back to some cleaner function.

In the last few months
-I cut the starfruit way back to 6' after fruiting stopped so we can reach the fruit next year. -Leveled 1/4 of the side yard after tree removal. -Reset the kiddie pool so kids can splash and stay cool and sq**rt gun eachother this summer.
-Trimmed some of the mulberry too high growth before fruit ripened.
-Cut the baby loquats way low after fruiting season ended.
-Cleaned out 2 banana pits and reset them.
-Trimmed the beauty berry way back
-cleaned out all the dead vines on 150+feet of fencing.
-harvested about 15 gallons of pigeon Pease and still not done yet.
-oh and gorilla gardened a bunch of random herb seeds and some flowers.

I find peace in the reset so this week has been wonderful. We got almost 12 inches of rain I feel like cause my 5 gallon buckets are almost full. Cleared space out for the instalation of my custom made dragon fruit tower from the amazing Kenny. Worked on the compost piles some and finally got around to trimming ym mango back 1 year of growth so it can stay smaller.

Met lovely neighbors who have been admiring the city garden and wondering what was growing. And watched a neighbor come harvest herbs from the city scape

Debating planting herbs or moving my growing towers over to this side yard to grow more easily accessible herbs. Still undecided

Wandering the garden we harvested our second pinapple of the season found our fallen mango checked on our tree balls (passion fruit) found a guilf fritilary who lost its leg and was end of life and found one at beginning forming its chrysalis. Also notice my tropical seages Sages are a tiny bit different so now I get to google why. Oh and our strawberry guava is fruiting but none of the kids liked it so this might be one for the birds

This week's newest addition to our garden tools..

Our new chipper
I'm kind of in love and bummed we didn't get this sooner. It def gets clogged with too many leaves but chop things let them sit for a few days for the leaves to dry and then bye bye pile of twigs. I chopped a ton of my norfolk pine branches today

Used my small shovel today to make some progress.

Planted my Chinese lantern in the pinapple garden hoping it will be a beautiful overstorey plant for my understorey pinapples. They get way too much sun here and dry out.

Put two more small sugar apples in the ground finally from my friend Juli Moomaw long ago. I'm hoping to create a cluster of them so they can cross pollinate for more fruit in the future.

Put my new sherbert berry tree in the ground hoping I picked the right spot

Split My jamaican cherry tree that was potted up for my friend Diana PS hoping both halves survive.

Learning slowly how to pot in place to avoid lifting any weight since lifting is still hard. Feels good to spend some time outdoors even if movement is limited.

Also loved these I think blue Jay fledgling in my tree any day they will be hoping around learning to fly.
