I had an amazing time at the IDS Tampa event last night at Carpet Crafters Rug Company! From great food to an incredible product selection to making new connections and gathering inspiration, it was truly a night to remember.

As a board member of IDS Tampa, I love being part of an organization that brings our design community together. There is something special about being in a showroom surrounded by like minded designers, industry professionals, and inspiring products. It is a great way to learn, connect, and stay inspired.

Welcome, September!

I can’t believe we are officially at the start of a new month already! August was filled with new projects, amazing views, the IDS monthly event, and an inspiring visit to The Art of Banksy exhibit.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Alison, the owner of Alison Interior Designs, helping homeowners transform their spaces from concept to completion.

Art and design are deeply interconnected, and this past weekend I had the opportunity to experience that connection firsthand while exploring the Art of Banksy exhibit at the Straz Center.

What made the experience especially interesting was how art and design came together throughout the space. The exhibit was held on the theater stage and the backstage areas, creating an immersive experience that transformed how you moved through and experienced the art.

Interior design is about so much more than making a space look beautiful. It is about how a space functions, how it feels, and the story it tells. When designing a beach condo or second home, every square foot matters. Many vacation homes have limited space, so thoughtful design is essential to make them feel larger, more functional, and more enjoyable for family and guests.

For this beach condo renovation, we took a creative approach by reconfiguring the walls between the living room and primary bedroom to create a custom banquette dining area. This unique solution provided a dedicated dining space while allowing the table to be tucked away, opening up the main living area and making the condo feel more spacious.
