BE CAREFUL FRIENDS!!!
Any painter that tells you your exterior home paint job will last 20 years should be challenged. I do not care what the brand is or what it says on the lable. I have been painting the exterior of homes in Bell County for over 20 years now (painttexas.com). We recommend that our clients plan to repaint every 10 years +/- depending on solar orientation and existing shade to keep up with The Central Texas climate. If you use cheap paint and do not prep properly, you can cut that time in half or worse. There are some exceptions but never does it last for 20 years here. There are simply no two ways about it. You can stretch it but that only means the next round of paint work will be more expensive and likely with repairs to fascia and other siding/cornice. The best way to prolong your exterior paint job is:
1.) Hire a seasoned professional with lots of references (talk to them for sure). Make sure they use the same product on your home as they do on their own.
2.) Ask how long they have been in business around here or at all.
3.) Keep the new paint job clean yourself or by way of hiring one of our many local pressure washing professionals. Twice a year is what we recommend.
I would be weary of any marketing ad on social media in where our neighbors and other homeowners are being mislead. 👍
