Who says security can't be beautiful? 🤔

This project was all about giving our client her space back. 🛡️ Between the custom 8-foot cedar privacy section and the heavy-duty ornamental aluminum perimeter fencing, she now has the 'neighbor-proof' backyard she’s been wanting.

The star of the show? That arched gate detail she fell in love with! 😍

Custom solutions for real peace of mind. 🔨

Tired of looking at the neighbors' siding? 🏠🏠

Our latest clients loved their backyard, but they didn’t love the view beyond it. They wanted a true "outdoor oasis" feeling where they could relax without the outside world peering in.

We installed this Modern Horizontal Cedar Privacy Fence to create a clean, seamless backdrop for their yard. Now, the focus stays on their beautiful lawn and the blue sky—not the neighboring structures.

🪵 Wood vs. ⬜ Vinyl: Which Fence Wins?
Choosing between wood and vinyl is another common question we get. The truth? There is no wrong choice. Both provide privacy, security, and curb appeal—it just depends on what you value most for your home!

Here’s the breakdown to help you decide:

🌲 Wood Fencing
The Timeless Classic

The Pros:

Lower Upfront Cost: Wood is generally more budget-friendly to install initially.

Natural Beauty: Nothing beats the look and smell of real cedar.

Customizable: You can paint or stain it any color you want. If you change your mind in five years, just sand and restain!

Easy Repairs: If a single board breaks, you can swap it out in minutes without replacing a whole section.

The Cons:

Maintenance: To keep it from rotting or warping, you’ll need to stain or seal it every 2–3 years.

Lifespan: Even with great care, wood typically lasts about 20-30 years before it needs replacing.

🏳️ Vinyl Fencing
The "Set It and Forget It" Choice

The Pros:

Zero Maintenance: No staining, no painting, no sealing. Just hit it with a garden hose once a year to wash off the dirt.

Extreme Durability: It won’t rot, it’s impervious to termites, and it doesn’t splinter.

Long Life: Vinyl can easily last 30+ years, often looking exactly like it did the day it was installed.

Consistent Look: Every panel is uniform, giving your property a clean, modern aesthetic.

The Cons:

Higher Initial Investment: The materials cost more upfront compared to wood.

Permanent Color: Once you pick a color (usually white, tan, or gray), that’s the color it stays forever.

💡 The Bottom Line
Choose Wood if you love the natural look, want a lower starting price, and don't mind a little weekend DIY upkeep.

Choose Vinyl if you want to spend your weekends relaxing and want a fence that stays looking brand new for decades.

Still undecided? Give us a call at Jennings Fencing! We can look at your property and help you figure out which option fits your backyard best.

When you’re investing in a privacy fence, the wood you choose matters just as much as the craftsmanship. At Jennings Fencing, we’re often asked: "Is Western Red Cedar really worth it compared to Pine?"

The short answer? Yes. Here’s why:

Natural Defenses: Cedar is infused with natural oils that act as a built-in preservative. It naturally resists rot, decay, and those pesky wood-boring insects without needing heavy chemical treatments.

Stability: Pine is prone to "moving"—it tends to warp, twist, and shrink as it dries. Cedar is incredibly stable, meaning your pickets stay straight and your lines stay clean.

Weather Resistance: In our Western Kentucky humidity, Pine tends to soak up moisture and crack. Cedar handles the moisture like a pro, aging gracefully into a beautiful silver-gray (or holding a stain much longer than Pine!).

A fence is more than a boundary; it’s an investment in your property. Choose the wood that’s built to last. 🪵✨
