Meet our new designer, Emma Winn! ✨

Emma brings a thoughtful, client-centered approach to residential design, with experience in cabinetry, material specification, and collaborative project planning. Her passion lies in creating spaces that are both beautiful and easy to live in, with a particular interest in the connection between design, human health, and the built environment.

Before joining Kraft, Emma built her expertise in the tile and stone industry and gained valuable experience working alongside a respected Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD) throughout the Portland area. She is committed to continued learning and professional involvement within the industry, currently serving as President of the NKBA Columbia River Chapter and as an NKBA Thirty Under 30 alum.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys knitting, reading, volleyball, and paddleboarding.

Congratulations to our friends at Level Plane Tile & Stone on the grand opening of their new design studio! 🥳

We enjoyed spending the afternoon exploring the beautiful new space, connecting with industry partners, and checking out the latest tile, stone, and installation products. The coffee bar, ice cream, charcuterie, and whiskey tasting didn’t hurt either.

For this West Salem primary bathroom remodel, we focused on improving function and accessibility while preserving elements that the homeowners liked and were still in great shape. The existing vanity, countertops, and light fixtures remained in place, helping reduce waste and maximize the renovation budget.

The biggest transformation came from replacing an oversized, underused jetted tub with a spacious zero-threshold shower and adding custom floor-to-ceiling storage. New custom cabinetry was carefully crafted to match the existing vanity, making it feel as though it had always been part of the home.

The result is a brighter, more functional bathroom that supports the homeowners' needs today while thoughtfully planning for the future.

We spent today volunteering at the Women Build event in Salem, helping to install siding on a new home for a local family. 🛠️🏡

It was a rewarding day spent doing what we love alongside an incredible group of volunteers, all working toward the shared goal of building safe and stable housing in our community.

This was our second year sponsoring Women Build, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support this meaningful work. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity Mid-Willamette Valley for bringing people together to make a lasting impact—we’re already looking forward to next year!

Making great progress on our South Salem sunroom addition ☀️

Wall-to-wall doors and windows are in, painters are onsite, and work on the perimeter deck has begun.

A few behind-the-scenes details we love:
Dave and Ted created a “story pole” template to map out exactly how the deck boards, stairs, and railing posts will align before construction begins. Everything is calculated so there are minimal cuts on each deck board and they flow seamlessly into the adjacent stairs and around support posts. This approach creates a clean, intentional layout by design. It also supports proper spacing for durability and allows rain and weather to pass through effectively.

Inside, the team built a custom A-frame structure to paint the doors and windows, along with careful masking to ensure a clean, even finish throughout.

It’s these thoughtful details that keep a project running smoothly and lead to an exceptional end result ✨

Last week, Emma traveled to Schaumburg, IL for her .advantage Roundtables meeting. This group of ten design-build remodeling companies gathers bi-annually for a 3-day conference to connect, learn, and grow together.

This season, they visited the team at , another father-daughter team with deep roots in the community, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship and service.

Emma was also honored to receive the MVP award in recognition of her contributions and insights within the group.
