Do you enjoy a mixture of autonomy and team work while working in nature? Having a varied work load and yet a consistent routine? Need time to catch up on all those podcasts or get in the zone with your favorite music while you’re working? Can you be trusted to represent a company, do what is required of you, and follow safety protocol when management isn't looking (this includes turning off the music sometimes)? Work will include:
Interacting with customers at their home or place of business.
Mowing and edging customer lawn.
Keeping flower beds healthy, fertilized, and free of weeds.
Pruning and shaping shrubs, ornamental plants, and small trees.
Other (floater) duties may include landscape construction, tree trimming / groundsman for tree crew, property cleanup, driving company vehicles, etc.
Requirements:
This job is physical and requires a moderate amount of fitness. Some days are harder than others but there are also plenty of easy days. Applicant should also be well versed in the use of a variety of power and hand tools (or at least mechanically inclined) including mowers, backpack blowers, motorized shears, rakes, shovels, and other equipment common to the landscape industry.
Chainsaws, chippers, pole pruners, and (possibly) operating a bucket truck, and climbing experience are required for the tree crew. The ability to cut and glue pipes, dig trenches, and assemble and adjust sprinkler heads and fittings, and set irrigation clocks for the irrigation crew.
Applicant must posses a valid ODL and proof of good driving record.
Must pass drug test upon hire.
Must be fluent in English, be capable of taking instructions and also giving them if promoted to crew leader.
Starting at $12 / hour. Bonuses given for top performers with outstanding work ethic
