Mid-America Garden is a Bearded Iris Nursery that introduces Tall Bearded, Border Bearded, Miniature Tall Bearded, Intermediate Bearded, Standard Dwarf Bearded, Miniature Dwarf Bearded, and Arilbred introductions by Thomas Johnson, Paul Black, Lynda Miller and Barry Blyth in Salem, Oregon and is on the same location as Sebright Garden which specializes in Hostas, Ferns, and Epimediums.

Gibberish (T. Johnson '18) A lined pattern iris with a pink ground, this has proven a difficult color combination to replicate. We have made attempts but so far little real progress. A unique and showy variety.

Good Morning Sunshine (T. Johnson '14). Here is an iris from a few years back but still a very solid performer. This video was done just as it was starting to flower in the field. Maybe next year I will have time to get a shot of it when it is in full bloom.

Foreign Concept (T. Johnson '24) Certainly a very different colored iris that has great form, growth and stems. This is also a very early variety.

Glowing Within (T. Johnson '24). A very tall well-branched and budded variety that is a very unique color combination.

Magic Stitch (T. Johnson '25) A very nice bright colored plicata with a clean pattern. It really stands out in the field with nice wide and rounded form held on show stems. A good strong grower as well.

Just to give everyone an update on what is happening here. We started digging the plants from the surplus sale on Tuesday, we did another round of plants that included those ordered right up to the last few hours of the sale. All those orders will ship out on Monday, there will be another small round of orders to dig and ship to finish it up. Thank you everyone who ordered in our sale you kind of overwhelmed us!! Happy Girl (T. Johnson '25) Thus named because it is just a very happy looking iris that seems to smile at you when it is in flower. Great stems and growth as well.

Hard To Resist (T. Johnson '16). Hard to believe this one was released 10 years ago already!! Obviously it is one that I like and consider a great iris since we are still selling it. Hard To Resist has also been a phenomenal parent and transmits incredibly wide ruffled form on its children.
