A small change can have a bigger impact than you might expect.

Moving a wall, adding a window, or upgrading a finish can affect more than materials. Labor, engineering, trade coordination, and scheduling may also change. In the middle of construction, those impacts can be substantial, especially when completed work needs to be revised.

Building a home requires a lot of decisions. We believe the cost of those decisions should be as clear as possible.

At Kaufman Homes, transparency means having the important conversations early. What does the project realistically cost? Where are the unknowns? What decisions could move the budget? What is included, and what isn’t?

Sometimes those conversations are difficult. But we would rather work through them before construction begins than surprise a client halfway through their project.

That’s why we put so much emphasis on preconstruction, detailed specifications, and thoughtful estimating. The goal isn’t simply to arrive at a number. It’s to make sure everyone understands what is behind that number.

Trust isn’t built by promising there won’t be challenges.

That doesn’t mean playing it safe. It means being intentional about where you personalize and where you think long-term.

Kent, Dale, Carson, and Rob recently represented Kaufman Companies (Kaufman Homes, Kaufman Commercial, Kaufman Maintenance) at the Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB’s 37th Annual Golf Tournament.

With teams from businesses across Central Oregon on the course, there were great opportunities to catch up with familiar faces, meet some new ones, and enjoy a little friendly competition.

It was a great way to step outside of the usual workday and spend time with the broader Central Oregon business community.

Thanks to the Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB for bringing everyone together for a great day on the course.

Finish work is well underway on our Newberg addition.

The masonry columns, exterior doors, interior finish work, flooring, and plumbing trim are now complete. Outside, our team is continuing with the soffits, siding, and decking, all important details in tying the new garage addition and wrap-around deck into the home’s existing cedar construction.

Next up are interior painting, the PGE main service transfer, electrical trim, and additional exterior concrete slabs.
