Installating contractor wanted 4500.00 to replace the evap coil. 13 year old lennox.... we saved this home owner from one heck of a repair bill and got them cooling again after over a year with out AC in the home!

Another company found a failed compressor and recommended replacement.

The homeowner wanted a second opinion because something just didn't seem right.

Turns out they were right.

The compressor was dead, but that wasn't the whole story. We found extremely high static pressure, oversized equipment, and the entire system trying to breathe through a tiny 14x25x1 filter.

On the new installation, we kept the existing oversized 14x25 return drop and custom fabricated the transition into a 16x25x5 Air Bear MERV 8 media filter cabinet. The result?

✅ TESP dropped to just 0.34" w.c.
✅ Improved airflow throughout the home
✅ Better filtration
✅ Better humidity control
✅ Longer equipment life
✅ Higher real-world efficiency

A furnace and A/C are only as good as the duct system they're connected to. We don't just replace equipment—we fix the problems that killed the old system in the first place.

A concentric vent termination is an engineered part of the furnace venting system. It must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions and required clearances. You can't just start adding random fittings to the end because "it looks better" or "that's how we've always done it."

✅ Maintain required clearances from grade, windows, doors, gas meters, regulators, and air intakes.

✅ Follow the vent manufacturer's installation instructions.

✅ Ensure proper support and pitch of the vent system.

✅ Verify combustion performance after installation.

❌ Don't add extra elbows to the termination.

❌ Don't extend the termination beyond what the manufacturer allows.

❌ Don't install aftermarket screens or restrictions that can ice over.

❌ Don't assume every furnace manufacturer has the same requirements.

The goal isn't to make it look cool. The goal is safe combustion, proper venting, and long equipment life.

Read the installation manual. Follow the clearances. Commission the equipment. That's how professionals do it.
