There’s a wide array of what those include: New Guinea impatiens, sweet potato vine, zonal geraniums, calibrachoa, petunias, trailing verbena, heliotrope, Kong coleus, SunPatiens and more! This photo will always be special to me. I was in the younger half of the cousins, so my memories of Barbara and Paul are limited. Any story of them is welcome and we still have customers that knew them personally!! I got my mom to talking about them the other day and it was stuff I’d never heard before. It was very special 🥹

Just in case you didn’t know, my grandparents were the dreamers and doers that began this place. They raised their children here and really built every bit as they were able to. It’s always a joy when aunties and uncles come stop in to see how much has changed, but really how much has stayed the same. Their stories are also priceless. There were manymanymany steps between them and now, but this photo is the reminder I needed of where I came from and how special this place is. The other day I heard a customer rumor that this was our last year in business, but I can assure you that’s not the case 😂

Please pause and reflect on our past and current service members that gave and give selflessly. 🇺🇸 I hope you have a meaningful Memorial Day 🫶

50% OFF Petunias through Monday 5/25 🌸

This INCLUDES 4-pack and 4” potted petunias
This does NOT include Wave petunias or other petunias in jumbo 6-packs

We also marked all hanging baskets down 25%

Petunias are a great garden filler. I usually use the word billow-y to describe their growth habit. You just get so much bang for your buck! As much as I never thought I would be into petunias, the three colors in the reel catch my eyes every time.

Watch to the end to see my last brain cell in action 🫠

MAY IS WILD. Weather-wise and also just that it’s total madness. Since we produce all plants on site, many different parts of production overlap at the same time as our busiest retail days. Maybe one day we’ll be able to capture the shenanigans to share here.

1. May includes many early mornings and late evenings. They are peaceful and productive, but thankfully don’t last forever. Charlie’s tactic is to make a huge list of needed veggies, pull them into the aisle and crank out the rounds to the sales area.

2. Sweet potatoes are ready for yinz! Beauregard is still our no. 1 pick for productivity, but we also included a variety we are not familiar with: Japanese Red.

3. Cut flower assortment is finally out! These violas are called Brush? Paintbrush?

4. More cut flowers: cosmos that look not of this earth 🤩

5. Strawberry Blonde marigold impersonating a double echinacea

6. I can’t believe Jax let his guard down like that 😂

7. A small collection of empty plug trays from our stellar production crew 💅

If you saw the parking lot on Saturday and still said ‘we’re going for it’, thank you all for being amazing humans! Everyone was so pleasant and kind. It was a crazy, lovely, warm day to be at Lamberts. And I hope mothers everywhere had a great weekend!!

1. I’m missing half of the sales team here, but they are all incredible! This is closing shift from Saturday, eating cold treats and folding boxes to prep for Monday. I love you all 🫶
2. The blooms on giving a sneak peek at what could happen in your garden 👀
3-4. We grow gomphrena in as many colors and pack sizes as possible. These are one of my favorite annuals! They also hold up *incredibly well in bouquets.
5. A sweet employee coordinated the Wizard Mix coleus and it was such a pleasant thing to see. Made my brain happy.
6. Iris blooms can’t be real
7. The garlic Sydney and Conlan planted is looking so good 🤌 I think scape season is close!!

It’s giving MOTHER.

Everything I learned about work was modeled to me by my mom. Learning how to teach and train, working late because the job has to be finished, staying optimistic during all the challenges a season has to offer, and everything in between. She even tolerates me 😳

This year is handing us some obstacles, but she keeps showing up ready to make things happen. And for that, she’s an icon.

These basils felt like some hidden gem finds worth noting! We started growing Everleaf Emerald Towers basil a few years ago and have added their cousins to the roster every time we see one. Emerald Towers is just a not-so-great way of saying classic sweet basil btw.

These basils grow TALL and columnar. I’m not sure why any other basils still exist (I love basil don’t come for me) because the Towers basils don’t go to seed quickly and they truly do reach multiple feet high. You could plant a few and have tons of basil for preserving into the fall/winter

We grew three varieties this year:
Emerald (sweet)
Thai
Lemon

Let us know what you think!

Ok, Martha.

I apparently prefer stevia a slow death under my watch. I’m pretty bad at growing such a popular herb/natural sweetener, but we planted a bunch of Lippia dulcis cuttings and I think they’re going to like it here!! You can find them in our herb selection against the wall next to the parking lot. We still have stevia, but only 50% of it made it to the retail space 😳 🤷🏻‍♀️
