𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟴,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

At CANstruction 2026, MHTN teamed up with Resolut and KPFF to transform donated food cans into a large-scale art installation celebrating conservation, community, and service—all while helping support the Utah Food Bank.

Inspired by the America 250 theme, the design reflects Utah’s diverse landscapes and honors the National Park Service mission to preserve our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

The column rises as a symbol of human civilization, with patterns and colors drawn from Utah’s landscapes. Its colors flow and intermingle like time itself, reflecting the many people who have called this land home. At its heart, conservation is an act of hope that preserves what we value and carries it forward to future generations.

As one of eight participating teams, we contributed to a collective effort that used more than 28,000 cans across all installations, all of which will ultimately support the Utah Food Bank.

The MHTN team gathered for an afternoon centered on color as a lens for creativity, expression and connection. Through color-themed board games, color analysis and custom garlands, the experience invited exploration of how color shapes both individual perspective and the environments we design.

These moments cultivate our people-centered studio culture, where curiosity, mentorship and shared experiences inform our work. By creating space for dialogue and discovery, our team strengthens the foundation that supports meaningful design outcomes.

A milestone moment for Southern Utah University! MHTN was honored to join the ribbon cutting celebration for the Joe and Beverly Burgess Family Business Center—an inspiring new hub designed to support the next generation of business leaders.
Our CEO, Chad Nielsen, delivered remarks on the project’s vision, the strength of its partnerships, and appreciation for the trust placed in our team.

The event brought together university leadership, local lawmakers, and community leaders, with remarks from SUU President Mindy Benson and the Burgess family. The celebration continued with an open house and dedication of conference rooms and classrooms recognizing their sponsors.

MHTN joined city planners and municipal leaders at the American Planning Association - Utah Chapter Spring Conference in Bryce Canyon and contributed to conversations shaping urban planning across Utah’s rural and gateway communities. Topics focused on resiliency, growth management and planning strategies that support long-term community outcomes.

Sessions explored housing, transportation, historic preservation and inclusive development, reinforcing how integrated planning and design create adaptable, community-centered environments.

The University of Utah’s first public-private partnership housing project in partnership with American Campus Communities is nearing completion, with the exterior façade taking final shape and solar panels being installed to offset the building’s energy use.

Designed to support student life beyond the classroom, the facility brings together spaces for movement, connection and daily convenience. Amenities include bike storage, bouldering walls, a food court and a central courtyard that creates opportunities for gathering and informal interaction. Direct access to trails and public transportation further connects residents to campus and the surrounding community.

At Cytiva’s Logan campus, the newly opened Administration Building brings together human resources, administrative offices and open workspaces for multiple departments. Conference rooms, huddle spaces and informal breakout areas are woven throughout, supporting daily operations, client engagement and evolving workplace needs.

The multipurpose break room serves as the campus’s community hub. Designed to support lunch breaks, events and town halls, the space features breakout areas, retractable partitions and a large adjacent conference room. A curtainwall system opens directly to outdoor food truck stations, extending gatherings beyond the building and enabling seamless indoor-outdoor experiences.
