Whether you say “LAZZ-u-lye” or “LAZZ-u-lee” or “LA-zoolly”, the LAZULI BUNTINGS ARE BACK! Set millet or a seed mix containing millet in a tray feeder and you have a pretty good chance of attracting them now through mid-July 😊

We’re often asked “HOW CAN I FEED AMERICAN ROBINS? and WHY WON’T THEY COME TO MY FEEDER?” Our friend Rachel Taylor sent a video of a robin recently feasting on DRIED MEALWORMS (available in store, $9.99/bag) she had placed near a GROUND BIRDBATH in her yard. (Zoom in to see it.) Robins aren’t interested in birdseed so they’re unlikely to follow other birds to seed feeders. However, they do love bird baths. By placing the RIGHT KIND OF FOOD (including dried and live mealworms, suet, raisins and other fruit) in the RIGHT LOCATION (near a bird bath), you can have success feeding robins!

WHAT MAKES A GREAT BIRD BATH?
Generally, birds prefer baths that have two qualities:
1. SHALLOW DEPTH (not more than an inch deep)
2. TEXTURED SURFACES (for grip which aids in quick escapes)
