As a Northstar Fencing and Home Services fence contractor, you will be tasked with assisting the Supervisor and other team members with fence installation, practicing common job site safety, and holding yourself in a professional, friendly, and respectable manner with customers. You must have your own reliable transportation and a valid ID, be able to lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time. You will need to work in adverse weather types and have at least one year of experience using common power tools and fence installation. Fence helpers/installers are exposed to working with and around moving and vibrating mechanical parts and working in high, precarious places. Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Loading and unloading tools/fence materials
- Installing all types of fencing
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Operating various hand tools and power tools
- Job site clean-up. Ensure the job site is free of debris and all equipment is on the truck upon job completion.
- Perform duties safely at all times, maintain safe and clean and safe work area
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED) preferred, or one to two years related experience or training.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of carpentry tools
- At least one year of experience using common power tools and fence installation.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. Conditions involve working outdoors in extreme weather conditions, long periods of standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Work involves exposure to loud machines and building construction noise.
