How fun is this?

Who of us had parents this cool? To allow this in their house? When this young man has his own house and his own family, he'll remember this, and hopefully he'll do something just as cool for his kids.

As a side note, this job was probably the kookiest thing I've done as a handyman. I so love my job!

I'm not even sure where to start, but here we go:

It's pulled away from itself in two different directions. It's so heavy that there's no real hope of pulling it back up into place. All that could be done (short of tearing it all down and building a new one) was to do a "stop gap" repair to buy some time. So I added some 2 x 4 stringers (of sorts), attached two pickets with a third picket in between that looks more like a giant shim, fashioned a new, custom top cap, and...well, you see the end result.

Fascia repair! If you don't need it now, you will eventually. Whether from a bad roofing job, water pe*******on, or...heaven forbid...termites, damaged fascia finds us all sooner or later.
