Job Responsibilities:
Our locksmith technicians routinely perform maintenance, overhaul,and repair of standard types of mechanical locking devices including mortise, rim, kik, deadbolt, padlocks, office equipment, and emergency exit locks. Our locksmith technicians perform visual and operational checks to locate sources of trouble and determine the best method for opening malfunctioning locking devices. Our locksmith technicians routinely perform work on commercial and residential applications. We do NOT provide any automobile services.Our locksmith & access control technicians routinely install and perform maintenance on various access control, cctv, and burglar alarm systems.
Required Qualifications:
Mechanically inclined
Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
Ability to pass both a background check and drug test
The ability to obtain a locksmith license in the first month of employment
Familiarity with tools including use of a screw driver, file, drill, hammer, and chisel
Must be able to work independently & efficiently
Must have exceptional time management skills
Ability to troubleshoot and repair
Good dexterity and coordination between hands and eyes
Basic math skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for keying and pinning
Basic knowledge of various types of woods and metals in order to select appropriate tools and equipment to use
Basic knowledge to use an iPad
Ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in awkward positions when installing and opening locks and emergency exit hardware on site
Must show stable & reliable job history
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the construction, operation, and functional characteristics of a variety of locking devices
Familiarity and knowledge with picking & shimming
Knowledge of a variety of key blanks
Experience with code cutting
Hold a current locksmith license
Experience with low voltage & access control
Our pay is based upon experience and current licensing status. We provide the opportunity to earn a monthly bonus and reimburse for cell phone usage up to a given amount.
Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications.
