So...The real key is keeping the space above the dew point so the humidity or moisture doesn't condense and allow water to form or drop out of the air and get into your home. Ventilating the crawl space or attic with dryer cooler air will keep your home at reasonable moisture levels

We have had a lot of customers ask us about Humidity in their crawl space or attic. Humidity is pretty simple. It's the amount of moisture in the air. Warmer air holds more moisture so the humidity level is higher when it is hot. Just like those dog days of summer. If your crawl space or attic is hot then it can hold more moisture.

"But the guy told me everything was fine ! " - We hear this a lot.....take a look at the following pictures. This crawlspace was 'overhauled' in the summer of 2009 - the contractor installed new insulation and a v***r barrier.......at least that's what the invoice said......A few things wrong here........Vapor barrier not installed properly and only covers 25% of the ground (if that...), Kraft paper faced R11 insulation......should be R19 and House Rangers exclusively uses polyethylene encapsulated insulation because paper and cardboard can develop mold in as little as 50% humidity.......Insulation has become damp and fallen to the floor - crawlspace insulation at probably 50% or 60% efficiency.......What's going on under your home ?
