After 45 years Shades of Green Nursery has closed its doors to make way for the beautiful Shades of Green Legacy Garden, a peaceful two acre public garden offering exposure to nature, quiet spaces, and education.

Just a reminder that our first Seminar Under the Cypress is this Saturday, June 6th. It is all about DEALING WITH SUMMERTIME PESTS. It is free of charge and begins at 9:30am. We are prepared to move into the greenhouse if it should rain so come rain or shine.
Our Saturday seminars are going to be very informal so we remind you to bring your own chairs.

Just a reminder that our first 'Seminar Under The Cypress' is this Saturday starting at 9:30 am. (Coffee will be on by 9:15) Bob's topic will be 'Dealing With Summertime Pests.' He will be stressing the importance of keeping your plants healthy & vigorous, creating a balanced environment that discourages damaging insects, attracting beneficial insects, managing problems, & much more. Come rain or shine & don't forget to bring your chair.
Also we will be selling some seminar-related products such as fertilizers, soil amendments, and pest controls.

First, we want to wish all the wonderful mothers out there a happy Mother's Day on Sunday!
We are also celebrating our anniversary. 45 years ago on Mother's Day we opened the doors to Shades of Green Nursery. During that time we met our wonderful customers who became friends and family. We also had some of the most amazing employees. We truly had the best business anyone could hope for.
We are moving forward in the development of the Shades of Green Legacy Garden. But in the meantime, we have decided to begin having Saturday seminars again in response to constant requests from customers. Our first seminar will be on June 6, and it will be All About Summertime Insect Control. Mark your calendar and plan to be here. We'll be announcing more details when it's closer to the date.

We just want to give everyone an update on Shades of Green progress. We are in the process of deconstructing most of the structures at the nursery. So far the bedding plant area, herb area, and vegetable arbors are gone and Terra Cotta Alley is just an alley now. The display house is coming down as we post this. Soon we will be having a material sale of all the wood from our structures, so watch for the post announcing that. It's extremely sad seeing the structures come down, but it's making way for the beautiful Legacy Garden to come.

Here's a toast to you, our wonderful customers and friends. Bob and I want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all of your amazing support and love for Shades of Green Nursery over our 45 years in business. What an amazing journey it has been, and we are left with such great memories of growing within our community from a tiny neighborhood nursery to the business it became.

We are now moving into the planning and fundraising stages of creating the beautiful, peaceful Shades of Green Legacy Garden, our gift to the community. We hope you will continue to support us with your donations to make the Garden a reality.
