Here I am—sort of. Showing up on social media has never been easy for me. I’m a behind-the-scenes kind of person. I’d rather be untangling hangers than untangling my nerves about being “seen.”
But here’s the thing: I know that someone out there is overwhelmed, stuck, and afraid to ask for help—just like I’ve felt about sharing my work online.
So this is me, stepping out (kind of) and showing up (awkwardly). One post at a time.
If your home feels like too much, or your brain feels like a junk drawer—you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
Let’s do this gently. Let's Simplify, Organize and Thrive together.

✨ New on the Blog! ✨

Can a maximalist really be organized?
Spoiler alert: Absolutely. It’s not about getting rid of everything you love — it’s about creating a home where all your treasures have a place to shine.

In my latest blog post, I’m sharing how maximalists can embrace their style and enjoy a beautifully functional space. (Hint: It’s all about intentionality, not minimalism!)

If you've ever been told you have “too much stuff,” this one’s for you. ❤️ Let's celebrate a full, joyful life — and make it work beautifully.

Unpacking the End-of-School Backpack: A Seasonal Event™

The school year is almost over—which means it’s time to prepare for the moment every parent dreads (or secretly loves):
THE BACKPACK CLEANOUT.

Get ready for:
🖍 Crusty glue sticks
🍌 A half-eaten snack from... March?
🎨 A pile of “very important” artwork
📚 Crumpled assignments, mystery papers, and That One Missing Sock

At my house, we treated it like an archaeological dig. You never know what you’ll uncover—but there’s always a story behind it.

How do you tackle that last-day backpack dump?
One item at a time? Trash can on standby? Do you let your kids help, or do you go in solo, fully gloved and emotionally prepared?

Tell me your end-of-school unpacking ritual—funny finds welcome!

Decluttering isn’t always about “stuff.”
Sometimes, it’s about saying goodbye to the version of ourselves who once wore it.

In my newest blog, I’m sharing a personal story about parting with my corporate wardrobe after retiring from a 35-year career. It wasn’t just about letting go of blazers and heels—it was about honoring the woman I was… and making space for who I’m becoming.

If you’re facing a life transition—retirement, career change, loss, or reinvention—this one’s for you. It's a reminder that release isn't rejection… it's growth.

How do you celebrate a freshly organized space?

After the bins are labeled, the shelves are styled, and everything is finally in its place…
what’s your go-to way to soak it all in?

✨ Light a candle and take a deep breath?
📸 Snap a pic to show your best friend (or the group chat)?
🎶 Crank up the music and do a happy dance in your newly reclaimed space?

Personally, I love to sit down, take a slow look around, and just breathe. There’s something magical about watching calm settle into a room.

I’d love to hear your version—drop it in the comments! Let’s share all the little rituals that make the effort feel extra rewarding.

Be honest… how many junk drawers do you really have?

I’ll go first: In my house, every single person has their own junk drawer.

Junk drawers get a bad rap—but let’s face it, sometimes we need a catch-all spot for life’s odd bits and bobs. The trick is keeping them useful, not chaotic.

So tell me:
Do you have one sacred junk drawer… or is there a network of them scattered across your home?

No shame. No judgment. Just curious—and maybe a little inspired for the next round of drawer detoxing.

If you’ve ever looked around a space and wondered, “Is this just disorganized—or something deeper?” you’re not alone.

Chronic disorganization and hoarding are not the same thing! And understanding the difference is essential to offering real support—without shame or judgment.

Here’s a gentle breakdown:

Chronic disorganization = repeated struggles to stay organized despite trying. Systems don’t stick, but support does help.

Hoarding = an intense emotional attachment to items, often making it hard—or even distressing—to let go. It’s a recognized mental health condition.

Both deserve compassion. Both require care.
But the approach to helping is very different.

“Where Does Your Clutter Like to Hide?”

Every home has a clutter zone—that one spot that seems to attract the random, the forgotten, and the “I’ll deal with it later” pile.

For some, it’s the kitchen counter. For others, the dining room table becomes a paper magnet.
Maybe it’s the chair in your bedroom (it's my problem area). Or your laundry room that’s become more “drop zone” than “Zen zone.”

As a home organizer, I love helping people uncover these sneaky clutter hotspots and create systems that actually work for their real lives—not just Pinterest-perfect ones.

So tell me…
Where does clutter build up in your home?

No judgment here—just curiosity, community, and maybe a few helpful tips to come. 💛

New on the Blog: When Clutter Isn’t Just a Phase

Not all messes are created equal. Some clutter comes and goes... but what if it never goes?

If you’ve spent years trying to “get organized” only to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like nothing ever really works—this one’s for you.

In my latest post, I’m talking about chronic disorganization—what it is, how it’s different from the everyday mess, and why it’s not a character flaw. It’s a sign your environment and your needs just aren’t syncing yet—and there is a path forward.

💬 Let’s start a conversation: Have you ever felt like traditional organizing advice doesn’t work for you?

Let’s talk about To-Do Lists.

Some people write them on crisp notepads.
Some people use color-coded apps.
Some people scribble them on the back of receipts and hope for the best.
And some of us? We’re loyal to sticky notes in every color of the rainbow—plastered across the desk, fridge, car dash… you name it.

I’m all of the above, depending on the day… and how many Diet Cokes I’ve had. 😄

But here’s the real truth: A to-do list isn’t just about tasks. It’s about clarity. It’s your brain, untangled. Your week, simplified. And when you write it all down—guess what? You’re already halfway there.

📝 Tip from an organizer: Don’t overload your list. Pick 3 priorities for the day and let the rest be gravy.
✨ Bonus tip: Leave space for joy. A walk, a nap, a moment to breathe. That belongs on the list too.

Tell me your style—are you a sticky-note whisperer? A digital planner devotee? Or a back-of-the-envelope enthusiast? I want to know!
