This whole property is getting the full treatment and we’re not even close to done yet 👇

We’re out in Helotes right now working on one of our biggest residential projects. New sod going in across the yard, a full concrete patio pour, a complete rock installation for the orchard, and a brand new mulch bed around the patio with 16 cherry laurels going in the ground.

When a homeowner commits to doing everything the right way at once instead of piece by piece, this is what it looks like. Every trade on site, every detail planned out, and every phase building on the last one. The sod prep has to be right before the sod goes down. The patio grade has to be set before the pour. The rock and mulch beds get edged and placed after hardscape is locked in. There’s an order to all of it and skipping steps is how projects fall apart.
This is what a full property transformation looks like in progress. The finished product is going to be something special — stay tuned.

👇 What would you tackle first on your property?

14 pallets of sod. Full front and backyard replacement. Here’s what that actually takes 👇

Step one is removing all the old turf. You can’t lay new sod over dead or patchy grass and expect it to root — it won’t. We strip everything down to bare dirt so we’re starting clean.
Next is topsoil. San Antonio soil is mostly clay and compacted ground that chokes out roots. We bring in quality topsoil and grade the entire yard so water drains properly and the new sod has something worth growing into.

Then it’s go time. 14 pallets laid tight — seam to seam, no gaps, no overlapping. Every piece gets pressed into the soil so there’s full contact with the root side. That’s what determines whether your sod takes or dies in the first two weeks.
Most companies will quote you sod and just slap it on top of whatever’s already there. That’s why those lawns look great for a month and then fall apart. The prep work is the job. The sod is just the last step.

This one came out right. 🌱

👇 Save this if your yard needs a full reset

50 yards of compost. One property. No wheelbarrows in sight. 💪
This is what a real soil reset looks like in San Antonio. Mini skids loading the buckets, heavy duty turf spreaders across every square foot — section by section until it’s done right.
Your lawn doesn’t need more fertilizer. It needs what’s underneath fixed. Compost rebuilds your soil from the inside out — better drainage, stronger roots, and grass that actually survives July.
This is the job most companies won’t take. We don’t care. We brought the crew and the equipment. 🌱

Late night finds: The $200 start. 📼

Found this video from exactly 2 years ago today.
I was just a high school junior with $200 in my pocket and a willingness to work in the rain. Looking back at these clips, it’s crazy to see where it started vs. where we are now.
No investors, no handouts—just pure grind.

Today, at 19, Canopy Land Solutions has grown from that $200 investment into a full-service professional landscaping operation. We built this on hard work and doing the job right, rain or shine.

Ready to work with a team that actually cares?

“$3,400 day at 19 years old. 😤💸”

Talk is cheap. Ex*****on is everything.

We quoted this historic disaster, secured the contract, and immediately got to work. Here is what it takes to clear a $3k+ ticket in a single day:
* Bring the Right Toys: You can’t do this efficiently with just a pickup truck. We brought the dump trailer and the full crew at 8:00 AM sharp to maximize speed.
* Hidden Hazards: It looks like tall grass, but it’s hiding tires, bricks, and concrete. You have to manually clear the junk before you wreck your expensive equipment.
* The Reveal: The satisfaction of seeing the house structure again is unmatched. We turned a city-code liability into a clean slate for the remodelers.
Age is just a number. Work ethic is the currency.

What is the most unexpected thing you have found hidden in tall grass? 👇

“$7,700 quote sent. 📲🌲”

People see a chainsaw; I see liability.

We are back at the historic home, and the landscaping was just the beginning. Here is how we built a $7,700 ticket on tree work alone:
* Risk Assessment: We have limbs touching the roof and dead trees leaning right next to power lines. You aren’t paying for the cut; you are paying for the precision to not drop a log on a 1902 home.
* The “Wicked” Stuff: That gnarly dead tree in the back is a ticking time bomb. We identified everything that needed to go to protect the property value.
* Complete the Job: Never leave a stump behind. We added a recommended $1,200 line item just for stump grinding to ensure a clean finish.

High risk = High reward. 🏗️

Do you touch trees near power lines, or do you sub that out? 👇

“19 years old. $3,200 contract. Signed on the spot. ✍️💸”
People ask if my age is a barrier. It’s only a barrier if you let it be.

This wasn’t just a mow; it was a remediation on a 1902 historic home that needed to be done by Friday. Here is how I structured the deal:
* The Base: We quoted $2,600 to clear the massive overgrowth. The client was under pressure from the city, so I sold speed and reliability.
* The Upsell: Never leave money on the table. Once we agreed on the vegetation, I offered to haul off the debris pile for an extra $600. That one question bumped the ticket price up significantly.
* The Ex*****on: I didn’t wait. I sent the contract, guaranteed the Friday deadline, and got the signature immediately.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re “too young” to run a real business. If you solve the problem, they will pay the price.

How old were you when you started your business? 👇

“Everyone wants the dream, but nobody wants the blisters.” 💭⚒️

The audio speaks the truth: If it keeps you up at night, you have to pursue it. For me, that obsession just happens to look like sod, mulch, and red clay.

Building a landscaping business isn’t just about cutting grass; it’s about the relentless pursuit of a vision.

Here is what “chasing the dream” actually looks like on a Tuesday:
1. Sweat Equity: You see the finished product, but you don’t see the thousands of pounds of mulch moved by hand. If you are afraid of hard labor, this industry will chew you up.
2. The Transformation: There is no better feeling than taking a bare patch of dirt and turning it into a green oasis. That instant gratification is addictive.
3. ** ownership:** The hardest days working for yourself are still better than the best days working for someone else.
If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it. 🚀

What is the one big goal you are chasing in 2026? 👇
