Not one to be outdone by its blooming neighbor, stapelia gigantea has got some nice big stinky blooms! Third photo of of the hybrid that’s got more of a burgundy color. It’s also a little bit smaller, but not as small as grandiflora.

These three beauties jumped into the cart today at Paul’s Desert when we went to get some cactus soil mix. The two cactus are going in the front side bed that previously held my beloved aloes. It’s been a bit since I killed a Portulacaria molokiniensis so I thought I’d try again.

I love how the little pink blooms on my Lepismium cruciforme just sneak up on me every year.

I don’t have a lot of cactus, but wow!!! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure this is a Echinocereus coccineus - Claret Cup. It’s in a pot with other Texas natives that was gifted to me a few years ago from a friend who field collected it (with permission) many years before that. I might have to spend all day just staring at it!

Today seemed like a good day to give my pig a trim. I haven’t touched this Kalanchoe laciniata in years, and man oh man was it time! After trimming, I took it all out to top it off with fresh soil. After repotting, there’s a very large pile left to share and plant in other areas. There was also a surprise…I knew I had planted a little Rhipsalis in here with the K. laciniata, but it was covered. It grew to a nice hanging basket sized plant while being hidden. The best part is that now my beautiful Talevera piggy is able to be seen!
