2025 sure was a journey & this is certainly not how I thought it would end.

In early January, when I analyzed the 2024 numbers, they were the best I had ever seen. We moved into a new office. Our pipeline was full. Our hopes were high. But by the end of the month, something was shifting in the market. Tariffs hit our industry, and government layoffs & funding cuts hit our city hard. (Cuts in the billions, I’d later learn.) It was a sign to make a move toward what had been on my heart for some time. Within ninety days, I went from a company of twelve, back to a solo practice of one. I’d unwound everything.

I built an exceptional, big business, and spent the better part of a decade creating something really beautiful. We all felt it. But…it took a toll on me. I understand now, with so many fewer notifications and tasks in my days, just how big that toll was. Demoing a decade of company infrastructure was impossibly hard. And, as I tell my children when they make it to the other side of hard things, I lived to tell the tale.

Sometimes really hard things happen to make space for the next chapter of our story.
New dreams, and new babies (not mine!!), and new art, and new projects, and new space to…breathe.

I still have a thriving company, but it looks different now. I’m not crafting Instagram captions on the sidelines of the lax field. I’m not sending proposals from my car. I’m not chronically in my head about managing all the balls in the air and relentlessly checking off tasks in Asana. It’s all become manageable at a smaller scale. I have more capacity to be creative, and focused. Turns out, working hands on with clients is really what I love. Running a company took me too far away from the messy middle.

I’ll forever miss the creative design energy in our magical studio—collaborating, problem solving, and creating the exceptional spaces we used to design. I’ll miss the zest of the incredible women I shared time and space with, watching their talents come to life. It was something special.

But so too, is this new season.

Cheers to a New Year. 🥂 May you reflect upon what success means to you, and shift life as needed, to find your way there. 🤍

Hi friends!! Been a minute! First, thank you SO much to all of you who I got to squeeze hello at the Showcase Home open house! It’s not every day that you get to share your design work on that kind of scale, or hug so many special people in one day! So THANK YOU for making the weekends so special!

Second, after years of regular insta posting, I’ve taken a step back to reevaluate how it fits into my life, and my business. Now that there’s no team behind me organizing and posting content, I did an experiment…Hypothesis: Posting here correlates to the volume of client projects.

I thought for sure I’d see a decline buuuut…I’ll say it here first, if you want to get on my calendar in 2025 I have three spots left!! (😮) I’m almost totally full for consults and I have a waiting list for retainer clients.

So while I’ll love you all dearly, and love sharing our body of portfolio work, I’m spending most of my time face to face with clients and not scrolling insta. It has been WONDERFUL!! 🤗

Thus, I’ll be here when I feel compelled to share something special. And in the meantime, you can assume I’m dreaming up new creative spaces, even if I’m not here as regularly as I used to be! Turns out, life actually does happen, even if you don’t post it on the internet!! 🥳

So many of the conversations I’ve had recently revolve around one incredibly important topic: decisions.

As I meandered around the Showcase Home this weekend, and listened to so many of you amazed at the ability to complete a remodel of that scale in ten months, again, it came back to this: the ability to make decisions.

trusted us, we made decisions once, and then we moved on. I can’t put into words how impactful this is on a project timeline.

Every single home project starts and ends with your ability to make design choices.

Making decisions twice…well. Indecision becomes frustration that becomes lack of confidence and then it hinders progress. Not to mention it gets expensive fast as those change orders add up.

My aim is to dive deep and understand your goals, then apply my expertise so we can decide once.

We remain confident, knowing sound design is indeed a science of color and scale, and I will not lead you astray.

The best projects are those that trust the process—like the Showcase Home, and this gorgeous Primary Suite in our Lamont Project.

Make decisions once, friends. And if you’re stuck, drop me a note. I can help get things moving in the right direction. 🤍

It’s been a year and a half of conceptualizing, editing floorplans, creating color stories (inside and out!), selecting materials and designing the most exceptional Kitchen, Bathroom (x6!!) and Mudroom finishes for this stunning Southern Living Showcase Home with . Seriously, wait until you see all the tile, and lighting, and wallpaper!

We’re honored to have been part of the process in transforming this home, and starting next week, we’ll finally be able to share it with you. There’s been an absolute dream team working on this project.

I’m really proud of what we’ve designed, and while I’ve now shifted back to a solo design practice, this home was a true team effort that took hundreds of hours of collective creative expertise. The Team Styleberry finale could not be more beautiful! Stay tuned to stories for a sneak peek.

Hello, Friends!! After a bit of an Insta hiatus, I’m back! I spent the summer doing exactly as I’d hoped: being present for my kids, and working closely 1:1 with clients. It was busy (lots of lax!!), beautiful (college visits omg), productive (all hands on tile & textiles!), and sometimes intentionally slow. This new chapter will include a lot of that last bit, on purpose.

Today marks my kids’ first full day back to school (swipe to see that BTS weirdness) and now that my daughter is driving, I have gained hours of my day back. It’s a strange beginning to what will undoubtedly be an emotional end 24 months from now. But I’m here for it. Not missing a thing. Learning how to let go. And how to manage the teen brain dumps that always seem to happen right at my bedtime…😴

Our Belvidere showcase home will be ready for tours next month, and I currently have a waiting list for Design Consulting clients. Turns out, you really like this kind of offering, 🥹🥳. It’s been a joy to get my hands back in the creative game, and fingers off my keyboard.

Big life shifts are hard and wonderful.
Thanks for sticking around for the ride.
I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍

I’ve been OOO for the last couple of weeks, chasing my son around the east coast on one of many lacrosse adventures. This first picture was taken on the water in Annapolis before the 4th of July fireworks. Before that awful night that consumed the lives and thoughts of South Texans, whether you were in town or not.

We wandered museums. We lingered at the Naval Academy. We read and learned and were reminded that life is full of horrors. But it’s also accompanied, simultaneously, with breathtaking beauty. With helpers and incredible details that tell the history—the storytellers, the artisans, the brave. Beauty and devastation have lived side by side for years.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got my eyes on the details right now. I’m in search of the beauty. Here what caught my eye this week…

From the beginning, Styleberry has been a different kind of design firm. I didn’t follow the textbook “rules” and I knew pretty quickly that Full Service Design was not the kind of work I wanted to do. The client I wanted to work with, and who wanted to work with me…well, she didn’t want full service help either.

She was either stuck, or so overwhelmed that she couldn’t even get started.

She didn’t want someone to swoop in and do everything for her. She wanted guidance. Support. Expertise. Sometimes, just a couple of hours of high impact brainstorming or design planning was enough to get her started, or back in motion. She wasn’t afraid to execute, but she needed to know what to do next.

Sound like you? 🙂

One well planned Design Strategy Consult at a time, I’m back to helping you get unstuck.

I can’t tell you how fun it is to dream the dream, share some links to shop, and help uncover your vision. 🤍

If you’ve been with us for some time, you know that Styleberry is constantly evolving. From reimagining our design offerings to incorporating new technology into our presentations year after year, we are always adapting the way we serve our clients. & because of these changes, we’ve grown. A lot.

Since 2016, I’ve built & nurtured Styleberry into what I think of as a dream mansion.

The details are impeccable.

The systems and talented team make it function beautifully.

The technology is like nothing my neighborhood has ever seen.

It’s big and beautiful and special.

But… it’s a lot of upkeep.

Now, it’s 2025, and I’ve realized that instead of that enormous mansion, what I really want is a cottage, with only the essentials I need & a garden in the back that I can manage on my own. A place to slow down and be fully present, with my family and with clients.

Thus, my decision to officially downsize was effective May 1st. I’ve let go of my big, beautiful labor of love & I’m digging my hands back in the dirt, helping a different sort of beauty begin to grow. 🌱

I’m delighted to share that Styleberry is pivoting to a design consulting model where I will be personally helping clients fall in love with their homes. (I can’t tell you how excited I am to get off my computer and back into your homes!)

Come meet my life-changing Design Strategy Consults…I’ll add a link in stories, & you can find all the details on the blog!

Thank you all for your support of the big news last week. You were so kind and understanding about what has felt like an emotional roller coaster. But you get it.

Over the holiday weekend I turned 43. Birthdays are always a time to reflect; this was no different. Life is already feeling fresh. The pace is different. My stress level is immensely different. I thought I’d be slowing down a lot and in many ways, I am. My nervous system is. But work is humming along at a pace that finally feels sustainable. Ongoing client work continues. The Southern Living Showcase home is moving right along. The kids are out for the summer. A new rhythm has arrived.

Based on my inbox, some of you have already poked around my website and learned what’s next. Sneaky sneaky. 🙂 You didn’t think I’d launch without all my ducks in a row, now did you? More to come here, but if you’re dying to be in the know, it’s all over on my online home. You know how to get there. I’m already full until July. Feeling grateful and assured. A new chapter begins.🤍
