The concept for this remodel was inspired by a travel photo taken in the south of France, to bring a fresh, distinctly European aesthetic to the once outdated space. ⁣
⁣
The Spring season has me longing for cottage-type interiors, and this remodel has unearthed that desire even more. The charming details, elegant finishes, and thoughtful design elements all come together to create a space that is inviting, curated and stylish. Laurie’s home now exudes a sense of warmth and sophistication that is reminiscent of a quaint European cottage. ⁣

It’s truly a space that feels like a breath of fresh air and one that I would love to spend time in!

Hi friends! It’s Makenna here, the Homeplistic founder finally stepping into the spotlight ☺️

To be honest, this has been long overdue, I have never shown myself much on here because I figured - you’re just here for the pretty decor right? But as I have grown a wonderful community, met many incredible people, and learned their unique stories, I figured it was time to share mine too 🤍⁠

Growing up in a coastal Virginia town, my love for interior design runs deep. Even at a young age, I was downright obsessed with redecorating my room, constantly tweaking and rearranging things. Pinterest was my first “social media” and I got it for all the room inspo, so you could say the passion was always there. I also spent a lot of time helping my mom with decorating and renovation projects, and that early immersion planted the seeds for what would later become Homeplistic.⁠
⁠
College life led me to the charming streets of Savannah, Georgia, where graphic design was the initial plan. But the city’s enchanting interiors, especially thanks to , completely stole my heart and redirected my creative journey. That’s when the love affair with creating inviting spaces truly began, paving the way for Homeplistic to be born a few years later.⁠
⁠
Savannah quickly became a place I knew I wanted to put down roots in and is now what I refer to as ‘home’. Outside of its historic charm, it’s where I met my husband. Back then, he was a contractor, and we were playfully dubbed the ‘Chip and Joanna’ of our circle. Together, we tackled renovation projects and house flips. We thought we would spend forever there, but life took a turn when he decided to join the military, leading us to our new adventure in the beautiful city of San Diego!⁠
⁠
Outside of my decor adventures, you’ll find me practicing pottery, walking my two pups, Lukah and Luna, or chasing sunsets. And, of course, indulging in little treats and coffee dates with friends. These simple joys are the sweet moments that put the cherry on top of my day. ☕🍒⁠
