Georgia GardenScapes

Georgia GardenScapes Consulting on landscape challenges, offering design for large yards to intimate gardens. Make it pretty, make it practical, make it easy to maintain.

These are the driving principals of my designs and plant choices for my customers. We discuss what you envision and assess the conditions and budget. The plan for a new yard or patio (or renovation of an old one) is presented in black and white and to approximate scale with an electronic report (spreadsheet) detailing plant names, features, conditions and photos of all plants specified. Maintenance guides are noted to ensure the success of future growth.

One more caution for the outdoors in fall…leave your shiny/sparkly jewelry at home. Why? Long ago a tree farmer told me a harrowing tale of a narrow escape from a colony of yellow jackets. Who did the attack and follow? The person wearing the gold chain.
These people know that 80% of all bee species live in the ground and they are highly active and more agitated in fall.
Be careful out there and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Still enjoying canteloupe from the front flower bed (now sharing space with too much crab grass imho!) 😅

This time of year I caution people to wear long sleeves, pants and a hat when working in and around shrubs because spider bite danger is at its highest right now.
Also, it makes good sense to stay out of the hot part of the day when snakes are soaking up the rays. Peak Copperhead baby time around early August. Watch for the yellow tales, very venomous!
