Wainscot + wallpaper is one of the highest-ROI moves in a small space and I will die on this design hill 🏆

You get the durability of tile where you need it most, and then you let the wallpaper go completely feral above it. Marble subway, alabaster and brass, and a botanical print with TIGERS tucked into the jungle like little surprises. Material cost stayed reasonable. Impact? Immeasurable.

Find the tigers. I dare you. 🐅

The dream kitchen. The dream team. These are the projects where the builder & team collaborates with creativity, the client exudes kindness and gratitude and something electric happens — where you’re standing in raw framing, plans spread across a sawhorse, and you can already FEEL every detail that’s coming: the marble slabs we found that had me squealing with sheer joy, the inlay cabinetry, the unlacquered brass, the T&G that would one day be painted the most perfect shade of creamy white. He vetoed nothing. Not the wallpaper, not the checkered rug, not the desk we tucked in as a nightstand — but that beloved stuffie? Non-negotiable 🥹 This is the part of my job I love most: designing a room that works for the kid he is and the teenager he will become. I’m unapologetically a wallpaper pusher — it’s a warm hug for your walls and beats staring at sad, empty white walls forever 😂 The wallpaper does the heavy lifting — texture, warmth, a whole vibe — so the rest of the room can breathe. And in all that, a little boy still has his loved on stuffy and his Vikings pennant and a space that feels like him 🏈🤎

Two kids. One room. Zero compromises. ✌️

Designing a shared space for siblings with different personalities (and opinions 😂) is honestly one of my favorite challenges. Here’s how we made it work for this Sonoma second home, sister and brother duo 👇

Give each kid their own world within the room. Same wallpaper, same sconces, same side tables — but pink chunky knit for her, blue for him. Same family, different vibes. Let the bedding do the heavy lifting. Matching bedding sets in different colorways = visual cohesion without making anyone feel like they got the short end of the stick. Accessories are where personality lives. From stuffies to funky gallery walls. Style the kid, not just the room. Wallpaper is your secret weapon. One statement pattern wraps the whole space in a shared story — it becomes their room, together. The before? A blank room with funky ceiling lines🐘 The after? A place where two little people feel equally at home. That’s the whole goal, honestly. 🤍 📍Sonoma, CA | 📸
