It’s June in San Francisco

Which means… June Gloom is here.

The foggy weather might feel gloomy to us, but many plants actually love the cooler temps and extra humidity. Here are a few easy ways to help your plants thrive this season:

💧 Reduce your watering: Thanks to the cool, foggy weather, evaporation slows down. Switch to a low-water routine for the time being to prevent root rot and waterlogged soil.

☀️ Increase their light: Help your indoor plants out by cleaning their leaves often (dust blocks light!), taking advantage of grow lights, or moving them closer to your brightest windows.

🌱 Fertilize carefully: The cooler weather naturally slows down plant growth. Don't "pressure" them with high-nitrogen fertilizers right now. Instead, use organic, slow-release fertilizers that feed them gently as the temperature warms, preventing root burn.

Do you have a favorite gardening practice or adjustment you make during June Gloom? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

We are officially in the "prepping phase" for our Late Spring Swap this Saturday! 🌿📦

We want to see what everyone is planning to bring! Care to give us a sneak peek in the comments? Whether it’s a long-time favorite or a rare cutting you’ve been propping, we can’t wait to see the variety!

Just a few "Golden Rules" for a great swap:
To ensure our community stays pest-free and happy, please make sure your plants are:
🌿 Pest & Disease Free: Please double-check for any unwanted hitchhikers before packing your box!
🏷️ Clearly Labeled: A labeled plant is a happy plant. It helps its new parent know exactly what they’re getting.
💪 Stable & Healthy: Please only bring plants or cuttings that are healthy enough to survive the transition to a new home.

Did you register for the swap? Stay tuned for a Swapper Info email 3 days before the event (check your spam, just in case), and feel free to DM us if you didn't get it.

We’re so excited to see the community (and the plants!) come together at the Randall Museum. Let the final countdown begin!

*Registration is now closed, so if you missed out this time, keep an eye on our page for future dates!
