Just a few features in our wild courtyard garden.

This area is what we call a seep garden. It absorbs all of the run off after we water our stock. Most of these plants are very drought tolerant and found locally throughout the Bay Area, but we’ve discovered that with gardening water they grow abundantly lush and healthy. Here is also a great example of what your garden can look like if it were to grow and reseed as it pleased. We regularly w**d and prune overgrown plants, however, leaving most of the decision making up to nature.

Some plants that can be seen in these pictures are:

Red Fescue
Fescue
Rushes
Slender Hair grass
Blue Elderberry
Leather Root
Hooker’s Evening Primrose
Lippia (groundcover in the background, good for in between cobblestones)
Yarrow
Tar W**d
(Not pictured, but typically flowering vigorously, Seep Monkey flower)
California Poppy’s
