Today is National Best Friend Day, and honestly, I can't think of a more perfect post.

Ashley and I have been together for 17 years, and she truly is my best friend.

She's the first person I want to talk to when I wake up in the morning. The first person I want to tell when something exciting happens. The person whose opinion I value most, whose laugh I want to hear, and whose company I never get tired of.

No matter what we're doing, my favorite place is wherever she is.

She's been my partner through every chapter, every challenge, every adventure, and every victory. She's my biggest supporter, my safe place, my comfort, my home.

Seventeen years later, she's still my favorite person.

This has still got to be one of my all time fvorite little face planters. Of course I found it at work at the thrift shop and I had to buy it.

And whenever I get a face planter, I have to put something that resembles hair. So in went the string of tears.

I love him. He's so cute. Check out the before and after on how he's growing.

An FYI there are no drainage holes, no rocks or anything at the bottom. When I water this little guy, I wait for it to dry out completely. And then I put about a shot glass of water in it.And that's it.

My flowers from our Mother's Day project. 🌸

Checking the before and after. It's wild how the pink took over on the flowers. They went from white with pink stripes to pink with white stripes.

Unfortunately, I lost one of my favorite flowers in each of these pots. The fluffy ones. 😔 We were away on a 4-day trip, and although I watered them before leaving, I made the mistake of leaving them in full sun during several days of 90° weather. By the time I got home, they were completely shriveled.

The good news is that the other flowers are doing amazing and blooming like crazy! 🌼🌺

For anyone wondering, these are planted in basic Miracle-Gro potting mix. You don't always need chunky mixes or extra amendments mixed in. Miracle-Gro already contains a decent amount of perlite for drainage.

One thing to remember is that plants in warmer weather will dry out much faster. A heavier, denser soil tends to hold moisture longer, while chunky mixes dry out more quickly and may require more frequent watering.

When you run out of room at home for plants... you start bringing them to work. 🌿😂

Most of these green babies came from my personal collection at home, although a few were sweet gifts from customers and friends here at the shop. ❤️

The shop is pretty much an extension of my plant room. A little bit of jungle energy, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyone else guilty of turning their workplace into a plant sanctuary? 🌱💚
