In observance of Freedom Day / Juneteenth, EHA will close tomorrow to provide a day to learn, listen and work for changes in equality.
We have officially added a new observed holiday to our office calendar.
As we reflect on the horrific events of these past several months, it is easier to see/hear/feel the recent racial injustices than it is to remember/empathize/correct the atrocities of our American past. As we watch the news, see the protests and engage in discussion, let us not forget that we must also act upon these injustices. We must begin to do something about the wrongs that have been committed. In an effort to promote and encourage us as individuals to make a difference, we offer a day to reflect and act upon our thoughts and feelings surrounding racial inequality and we hope that celebrating Juneteenth.
Freedom Day will remind us all that Freedom must be for everyone....freedom to breathe, freedom to speak, freedom to vote, freedom to move about worry free in public and freedom to enjoy all aspects of the American way!
