Summer flew by faster than any summer before, and we think we know why.

We kicked things off with several exciting projects in the works, and had so much fun having my daughter help out along the way. There is nothing like getting that time with her. This summer also marked the start of construction on my own house. It has been such a different experience being on the other side of the process, and I cannot wait to share more of what that has looked like behind the scenes.

Maybe the sweetest news of all: Ariana welcomed her first baby in June! We are beyond thrilled for her and her growing family. 🍼🤍

We also took time to learn and connect with the Kohler lunch and learn, always thankful for the chance to slow down, learn something new, and spend time with fellow designers.

Summer also meant some well-earned team travel. Annie explored Chicago, I spent time at my happy place on Topsail Island, NC with my stepmom, sister and her family, and Emily headed across the pond to Europe for a family trip.

And then, the moment we knew was coming all along. We packed up, prepped, and moved our daughter into her college dorm. Turns out you cannot turn off the designer in you, even when you are setting up a 10x12 room three states from home. It was hard and it was special, all at once.

Now we are looking forward to watching the projects we kicked off this summer come to life. Here is to a beautiful fall.

A Cambrian kitchen redesigned from the ground up where every choice was intentional. The patterned tile backsplash anchors the cooking zone while elongated blue hex tiles frame the sink wall, creating distinct moments within a cohesive palette. May was a full one and I mean that in the best way.

We kicked things off at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase. This is one of our most anticipated annual events full of showstopping designs around every corner. An absolute showstopper from every angle and breathtaking views of the glorious Golden Gate

From there, we celebrated the grand opening of the showroom in Mountain View — a stunning space filled with all our favorite plumbing, lighting, bathroom hardware and appliances. We had such a fun night out as a team and celebrating this new space.

Big news for the studio this month: Symmetry Designs is now a showroom. If you are a designer, contractor, or homeowner in need of a quality vanity, you can now order directly through us. James Martin brings exceptional craftsmanship and we are proud to offer that to our clients.

We also had the joy of connecting with fellow creative professionals at the .bayarea event — exactly the kind of community that makes this industry so special.

On the studio side, we celebrated our incredible before she heads into maternity leave. She has been such an important part of this studio and she will absolutely be missed — though we could not be more excited for her and this new chapter. 🍼🤍

And personally — what a month! Two graduations, my oldest graduated high school and is heading to Michigan State in the fall and youngest graduated middle school. Two big milestones, one very full and grateful heart. 🎓🎓

So much to be thankful for and even more to look forward to.

The best finishing touch in any room? Something made with love. These paintings are my mom’s — and getting to style them in spaces I designed is one of those full-circle moments I’ll never take for granted. Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who taught me that art belongs everywhere, especially in the heart of the home. I love you
