Our annual Spring Garden Fair is held at our Martial Cottle Park Demonstration Garden in San Jose. You can shop our plant sale, stroll through our gardens, attend a talk, and bring your plant, soil, pest, and tool questions to our Information tables.

“A World of Plants Without Soil” – JOIN US ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17

Have you ever seen a plant that seems to grow out of thin air? They're called tillandsias, and they're some of the most unique and surprisingly simple plants to care for. Often called "air plants", they thrive without soil, making them a wonderfully simple and versatile addition to any space. In this month’s talk, you will learn the basics of tillandsia care - from watering and light to creative ways to display them. You’ll also learn how to cultivate your own impressive collection.

“GARDENING WITH CALIFORNIA NATIVES” – JOIN US ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 20

Alrie Middlebrook, an experienced ecological landscape designer and California native plant specialist will talk with us about the Eat Grow Learn sustainable land use model through native gardens and regenerative farms. Alrie is a strong advocate for native plant use in urban landscapes and has been involved in installing over 1,000 native, sustainable gardens in Northern California. She is the co-author of Designing California Native Gardens - The Plant Community Approach to Artful, Ecological Gardens.

Holiday Decorated Pumpkins Created and Delivered!

At our recent November Member meeting, we spent a fun and creative evening learning about and then making nearly 40 pumpkin succulent arrangements that we donated to residents at Lincoln Glen Manor in Willow Glen.

We're grateful to be able to bring this extra bit of joy to our neighbors in the community.

Our November Monthly Member meeting is CRAFT NIGHT! We will be decorating pumpkins to donate to a local Senior Facility in Willow Glen. UC Master Gardener, Sue Neufeld will also talk with us about how to grow succulents and how to decorate pumpkins.
