Details that hold centuries of history. ✨

Stepping into the Sacristia at the Lisbon Tile Museum feels like a masterclass in craft. The dedication to detail in the woodwork, stone, and paintings is incredible.

This sacred space is where canons prepared for religious ceremonies—and right beneath it, tombs date back to the 12th century. A beautiful, haunting reminder of the layers of history right under our feet.

Excited to show you what I am working on this week, a custom tile panel for the exterior of a house.
The tiles are bisque and already have 3 layers of white underglaze. Now it is time to pass the design to the tile to paint it.
I will keep you posted on the progress.

The level of detail in this space is amazing! This central courtyard at Palacete Ribeiro da Cunha, features a breathtaking skylight and ornate stucco work by the master Domingos Meira. It’s a perfect blend of 19th-century luxury and exotic romanticism.

Architect: Designed by Henrique Carlos Afonso, it was actually the first building of its kind in Lisboa.

Architecture Style: A premier example of Neo-Moorish (Neo-Arabic) Revivalism. Look for the signature horseshoe arches, the four bulbous domes on the corners.

Built: Construction took place between 1877 and 1879 for the wealthy businessman José Ribeiro da Cunha.

Visit it next you are in Lisboa!
