4-Year-Old Takes 1st in Open Steak on a Lifespace Portable Grill

Connor from Bearfoot BBQ (Cleveland, TX) is four years old. Too young for Kids Q, so his dad Jarod signed him up for the open steak at the Ty Machado BBQ Memorial. They cooked it on a Lifespace portable grill and he took first place. $1,000 check, champion buckle, and a Golden Ticket to World Foods.
That’s the Future of Q right there.
The grill is compact enough to toss in the truck, easy to light, easy to clean, and apparently easy to win on; even when a four-year-old is doing the cooking. Watching Connor work that steak with his dad beside him showed exactly why we build these. Simple tools that let families and young cooks get after it without a bunch of extra hassle. Proud to be there and see it happen on one of ours. 💯☝️

When country artists are living full-time on a tour bus, every inch of space matters, and they still want a real steak.
Velvet Rodeo just fired up the Lifespace Portable Charcoal Grill for the first time while out on the road, and Bryan called it a game changer. Big thanks to Brian Bishop of Bishop’s Pitmaster BBQ for getting one in their hands.
It’s compact enough to store easily, only needs about 10 pieces of lump charcoal for roughly an hour of cooking, and still delivers a perfect medium-rare ribeye in around 15 minutes. Stainless steel body, cast-iron grate, and a travel bag included so it packs up clean.
If it’s good enough for artists living on a bus, it’s more than good enough for your RV, boat, campsite, or backyard.

Emma knocked it out of the park tonight.
She made a big pot of beef stew in our red Lifespace potjie, right on the gas stove. Chunks of meat, carrots, potatoes, and that thick, rich gravy that only gets better the longer it sits. We served it over rice and it was gone before anyone got up from the table.
Watching her cook it and then tasting the finished product… this is exactly what that pot was made for. Simple, hearty, and seriously good.
If you’ve got a potjie sitting around, tonight is a good night to pull it out.
