Botanic Wonders is a nursery located in the city of Vista, San Diego County, California. We are on a hill facing the Pacific Ocean, with one of the best growing climates in the world! We have been growing exotic succulents for years and recently added palms and cycads to our inventory. We propagate many of our plants from seeds and cuttings and consider ourselves experts in growing plants. We are

Just harvested Dioscorea hemicrypta seed pods today, and time to remove the seeds from the pods. We have a bit of drizzle today so things are a bit wet so I may wait to do all the pods. I like to work on them when they are dry. Hope to harvest 300-500 seeds this year. 🙏🙏🙏

Couldn’t help myself, had to do another video on potting up Operculicarya decaryi seedlings here at Botanic Wonders. These seedlings are about two years old, I picked them out for potting up last year and never got to it. They are already showing signs of great genetics, big roots and bumpy trunks!🥰🥰🥰

Some of my amazing Euphorbias are coming into growth right now. We have several species, including Euphorbia unispina, E. poissonii and E. venefica. They have finished flowering and now producing leaves. Also the Pachypodium brevicaule that I did a pollination video a week or so ago is producing seed pods! Always cool things happening in the greenhouse!🥰🥰🥰

Update on cacti seedlings planted this March. They are looking really good right now. They are starting to hit their stride! Also show some older seedlings ready for transplanting. 🥰🥰🥰

Taking cuttings from our Euphorbia stock plants today here at Botanic Wonders. These are various clones, mostly white types. I will remove the pups and let them callous for about a eeek and pot them up. Many of the pups will have started to root on their own attached to the parent plant. 🤗🤗🤗

Today is fertilizer day here at my house. I am watering and using Fish Emulsion as my fertilizer. I like do feed about every few weeks. Will also feed with a chemical fertilizer like Peters in between these feedings. Your plants will really appreciate the nutrients! 🙏🙏🙏

Planting up Operculicarya decaryi in the greenhouse at Botanic Wonders. These are seedlings I have personally chosen from the thousands we grow which will be grown on several years. These will be the most ones with the most ‘bumpy’ trunks. This is about the latest in the year we will be repotting this many plants. Their growing season extends into January depending on the weather. 🥰🥰🥰

This video is on propagation of Deuterocohnia brevifolia here at Botanic Wonders. This species ranks in my personal top five favorite plants! It’s in the bromeliad family and native to Bolivia and Argentina. ❤️❤️❤️
