Botanic Wonders is a nursery located in the city of Vista, San Diego County, California. We are on a hill facing the Pacific Ocean, with one of the best growing climates in the world! We have been growing exotic succulents for years and recently added palms and cycads to our inventory. We propagate many of our plants from seeds and cuttings and consider ourselves experts in growing plants. We are

Cyphostemma currorii Looking good in the garden here at Botanic Wonders. My Cyphostemmas are in full growth mode right now here in California. They are blooming and growing new leaves. We just did an offering on this species a few days ago. The seed is difficult to germinate, hence its rarity. 😍😍😍

Trimming two Dioscorea elephantipes from my personal collection. The leaves on these two plants are still somewhat green, but I will be cutting them back to force them into dormancy. I will also be fertilizing with fish emulsion this morning. 🀩🀩🀩

Pollinating Euphorbia obesa here in the greenhouse at Botanic Wonders. This species of Euphorbia is dioecious, which means an individual plant has not male or female flowers. I rare cases a single plant can have both, however this is rare. These plants are part of our stock, mother plants which we produce our seed from. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Agave gypsophila β€˜Ivory Curls has finished blooming here in the landscape at Botanic Wonders. This is a beautiful variegated form of this species. We did get some seed but will probably focus more on the small plants that form on the blooming stalk. These plants will be identical to the parent plant. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Today’s video is on potting up Copiapoa cactus seedlings here at Botanic Wonders. These babies are ready to move on to individual pots. Most will get individual pots, however tiny seedlings will be grouped 3 in a pot. Cacti seem to like community growing. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

This s a good time of the year to transplant your Dioscorea elephantipes. In this video I will show the basics of transplanting when your plants are dormant. Your plants should be going dormant or are already dormant. They will take a a rest for anywhere from two to three months and then start growing their new vines. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Repotting Cyphostemma elephantopus here in the Greenhouse at Botanic Wonders. These are seed grown specimens that are about 6 years old. This species is endemic to Madagascar and forms giant tire like caudexes. Our seed grown plants have more fingered type roots. 🀩🀩🀩

Potting up Euphorbia francoisii hybrids today in the greenhouse at Botanic Wonders. Also taking cuttings from these plants. One can do stem cuttings or leaf cuttings. They root very easily and will form nice fat roots that can be raised later. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—
