Keep the sound on for this one. 🔊✨

They say some things have to be felt to be understood. 🕯️✨ Monday in Monreale was one of those moments. Standing among thousands for the 400th anniversary of the Festa del Santissimo Crocifisso felt like stepping into the beating heart of Sicily.

I told Adi it felt like something you only see in movies or on TV—the raw emotion, the barefoot pilgrims, and a devotion that has remained unbroken since 1626. It was so moving to see flowers raining down from the balconies while everyone reached out for one last glimpse, hoping to just touch the statue for a blessing. To witness a tradition turn 400 years old while standing in these ancient streets... I’m still processing the beauty of it all. 🕊️🏛️

From the clouds in Erice to the crystal waters of Castellammare del Golfo... Sicily just keeps giving.

As a designer, I can’t stop staring at the textures here. Erice feels like a time capsule—the way the old town stone glows against the vibrant, hand-painted pottery is just incredible. I definitely spent too much time looking at the glazes and patterns in the local shops (new project inspiration, maybe?). 🏺✨

Beyond the design, we’re just soaking it all in. Adi and I found what I am officially calling the best gelato of my life, and wandering those narrow streets with him felt so surreal. Then, coming down to the water in Castellammare was the perfect way to end our day!

Walking into Villa Pestarini felt like stepping into a secret that Milan has been keeping for nearly nine decades. 🏛️✨

It’s been hidden away for 87 years, and being one of the first people to walk through these doors was a total “pinch-me” moment. This is the only private villa Franco Albini ever designed in Milan back in 1938, and it’s finally open to the public for the first time.

What makes it so incredible isn’t just the history—it’s the energy. the house is filled with designers from all over The world, showcasing their modern work right alongside Albini’s original 1930s genius.

Why it’s a dream for any designer: Walking in and seeing modern, global pieces against those glowing glass-brick walls and the iconic marble staircase is pure electricity. Albini’s custom built-in furniture still looks fresher than most things designed today. It’s a reminder that real quality doesn’t have an expiration date. It’s not a museum; it’s a living house where the past and the future are actually talking to each other.

We took a sudden U-turn toward Mount Fuji yesterday because, honestly, Tokyo just wasn’t for us. 🧘🏻‍♀️ We decided to head here a little earlier than we’d planned, and it was the best decision we could have made.

When we first arrived at the train station, the view was so perfectly clear and breathtaking that I completely forgot to even pull out my camera to capture it—but that’s okay. Some masterpieces are meant to be felt, not just filmed. Even though the clouds were playing hide-and-seek all day, seeing that silhouette in person was surreal. It truly feels like it’s not even real.

As an interior designer, I spend my life obsessing over scale and proportions, but standing at the foot of Fuji reminded me that nature is the ultimate architect. I actually cried just looking at it. I told Adi: when I’m around mountains, I’m reminded of how small I am in this world—but once I’m at the top, I feel like I’m on top of the world 🌎

My love for nature and the mountains is so deep. It’s the best kind of “reset” for my soul. 🏔️✨.

Unpopular opinion: Gokayama > Shirakawa-go. ✨

While everyone flocks to Gifu, my husband and I found our zen in this quiet, mossy sanctuary. As a designer, I’m obsessed with the Gassho-zukuri style—no nails, just hand-woven witch hazel and smoke-stained timber.

It’s 400 years of functional beauty and pure, mountain peace. 🏔️🧘‍♀️🤎

My soul is officially full. 🏔️✨

I’ve dreamed of coming to Japan for as long as I can remember—specifically to get lost in the mountains and experience the magic of small-town life. These last 5 days have been everything I hoped for and more.

I can’t even count how many times I’ve cried happy tears here. I finally made it. There is a kindness here that stays with you. I jokingly told Adi that every person should come here for “human training”—to relearn what it means to be polite, considerate, and deeply respectful of one another. The world would be a much better place if we all lived a little more like the people here. 🇯🇵❤️ I have so much more to share from this beautiful place, but I’ll save the rest for later once I’ve let it all sink in. 🏯✨

Today was a heavy one. You know those days where the weight of your ‘to-do’ list feels at odds with what your heart actually needs? I decided to scrap everything. I changed my plans, and spent the entire day at a temple instead.

It was the most magical, day. The air felt different there—lighter, maybe? My soul feels completely full, and I’m so glad I chose to listen to that inner voice telling me to slow down. It’s a reminder that sometimes the ‘productive’ choice is the one that brings you peace, not the one that checks a box! #2026

Since filming is strictly prohibited inside many of these sacred spaces, the quiet beauty of the interiors—remains a private treasure for those who visit. It is a place where the design isn’t meant to be captured on a screen, but felt in the soul. Ohara is a “city of villages” where time slows down to the pace of falling snow, offering a rare, meditative stillness. It’s a destination that doesn’t just show you Japan; it lets you breathe it in. #2026

I’ve spent the day mesmerized by the Kodawari—that relentless Japanese attention to detail where every interior, streetscape, and interaction is handled with quiet intentionality. There is a soulful precision here that makes the entire city feel like a curated work of art.

The Japanese devotion to craftsmanship—the way every small thing is done with purpose—makes the whole city feel like a curated work of art. Closing the day at Chōhō-ji (Rokkaku-dō) was a spiritual highlight; the temple’s ancient pillars and hexagonal lines create a sacred geometry that makes you feel instantly grounded. It is a quiet, architectural heartbeat in the middle of the urban rush. If this is only Day 1, I can only imagine how Japan will have transformed my soul by Day 30. 🇯🇵✨ #2026
