Teal Collins Art

Teal Collins Art I'm Teal Collins, a lifelong musician, singer, and songwriter. I began painting, starting with pet portraits, then delving into wildlife and abstract art.

Nature's beauty inspires me, blending my passion for music with the visual poetry of color and form. Teal Collins here, a lifelong musician/singer/songwriter/Artist. I grew up in the eclectic vibes of the SF Bay Area. My journey through life has been a bit like a mixtape—starting with chords strummed on a guitar and and adding strokes of paint on canvas. Music has been my everything since day one.

Growing up, I was that kid with headphones glued to my ears, soaking in everything from classic rock to Bach. My Dad was a Jazz Disc Jockey Al Jazzbeaux Collins, and there was never any shortage of great music around our home. Also, growing up in Marin County, its seems everyone is a nature lover- dare I say a Tree Hugger! We would find ourselves at Bolinas Ridge for sunset and Mt. Tamalpais - endless beauty in these parts. I love spending time outdoors, hiking trails, and letting the rhythm of the natural world seep into my soul. Each brush-stroke tells a story of the way I see life—a sunset over the Marin Headlands, the misty allure of Muir Woods, or an Owl family nestling into a tree. I love art, because it captures the essence of a moment! Songs might have to grow on you, but art shows us snapshots of the artist’s view and emotional state at that precise instance! What they put in, and what they leave out. It’s fascinating, and as unique as a fingerprint. All I want is to make some art, make some music, create some memories and celebrate the magic of being alive!.

Where do you spend the most time? Does the art in that room actually reflect how much time you spend there?

The spaces we use most deserve the most thought.

On my mind lately: "The Blooming Monarch"

Purrvana

A leopard reclines along a weathered branch beneath a star-flecked cobalt sky, its form defined by a dramatic interplay of warm and cool tones. Fiery oranges and crimson spots sit against electric blues and turquoise accents, creating a striking chromatic tension that emphasizes the animal’s musculature and patterned hide. Amber eyes stare outward with calm alertness, their steady gaze balanced by crisp white whiskers and a downturned jaw that suggests quiet authority.

Layered washes, splattered pigment and textured passages on the branch give the scene depth; deliberate brushwork and occasional palette-knife marks add tactile contrast. Paint drips at the lower edge introduce a raw, contemporary edge, while the speckled backdrop reads like a distant galaxy, pulling the figure into a nocturnal setting. A slender red-leafed sprig cuts diagonally across the upper corner, offering a botanical counterpoint that brightens the composition without disturbing its balance.

Overall the piece conveys boldness and poise through color and surface treatment, a modern portrait that commands attention. It would serve as a striking focal point in a living room, entryway, or study.

Here is a question worth sitting with: what do you actually see when you walk into your own home?

Not what is there, but what do you still notice? What draws your eye?

What have you stopped seeing because it has been there so long?

"Sparky #3 Petals, Stars, and Ancient Eyes" and the online art gallery is here, if you need to switch things up.

"Glade Runner" // https://www.tealcollinsart.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/img-8050

Introducing GLADE RUNNER—a painting where the wild meets the tranquil. A puma, poised and powerful, moves through an abstract landscape of lush florals and deep teals. With direct eye contact that feels like a quiet challenge, this piece captures the essence of strength in stillness. The puma’s watchful gaze reminds us that, even in rest, there’s a quiet force that runs through nature—silent, untamed, and always aware.

Experience the beauty of wild grace in GLADE RUNNER, a new addition to the Teal Collins Art collection.
