You can have all the tools, all the technology, 2 cans of wasp spray, and sometimes the wasps still win. Handing eradication over to the specialists so I can paint one little triangle after they remove what I assume is an epic wasp nest inside a tiny attic space. 12 foot ladder for scale, 24 foot extension because I had to try to use a scraper and paintbrush on a 24 foot extension... there isn't much precision at that distance. No humans were harmed or stung during this experiment. Knowing when to hand it over let's us show up for work tomorrow.

Go get the fan... No, the big fan... Getting work in, even when it's getting close to 100° and the power is off (but that's another post). Battery powered for the win. Paint can for scale, I was all out of bananas.

And sometimes, I get to add on a quick, little fun job. These pool sticks were getting rained on, so they needed a dry spot to stay. You'd be amazed at how many outdoor pool tables are down here. How do you hang a flat thing on a round thing? A little overengineered framing.

In the past couple of weeks, I've had the pleasure of receiving two outstanding compliments from tenants I've served through a property management company. This led me to question, are compliments becoming a lost art? It's worth noting that both individuals were of superior age, who continued to work, seemingly motivated by a desire to stay engaged. Their homes were also well above average, with one located in the Westin. What resonated with me was that both individuals took the time to send a message to the property manager, acknowledging me. When is the last time I took a moment to offer a genuine compliment.

"The repair man was the best I have had in the past 10 years. He is professional, knows his trade and personable. He found the problem and began the repairs. He will return to complete the job. "
