Mums -N- More Backyard Nursery Plants are our passion! We specialize in perennial plants for your outside garden and landscape areas.

We also carry a nice selection of fruit producing plants for food plots. most of our plants are $6.97, we also work with licensed landscapers as well. We are part of a large network of growers, so if we don't have the plants you are looking for there is a good chance we can find them.

good morning everyone!, does anyone have or had a Super Dad, I do. My Dad drove from Bowling Green ( Go Falcons! ) over an hour just to help me put up this canopy for my plant storage/green house yesterday. I would have liked to have taken a picture of him on a 6 ft. step ladder holding the tarp down but he doesn't want to be on Facebook lol. I couldn't have got it done without him, plus I always and still get a little fatherly advice every time he comes over.
We had to cut the visit short yesterday. Why? because he was dog sitting for a couple and had to get back and let the dog out, and take for a walk.
Stop by today if you would like and say hi to Daina the dog, we have a free plant for ya just for stopping by and saying hello.
we'll be open 9-4. Also if you get hungry for lunch, think about stopping by Bates Farm Express downtown Sandusky on Jackson street, by far the best chicken sandwich around, his name is Clint.

in just three days i must sell 51 beautiful mums for the wack-a-doodle low price of just $6.97. Plus 121 perennials, last week the heat must have gotten to me. look folks I messed up. my dog wants her yard back and i have more of these on the way and no place to put them. so for just 2 days I'm gonna sell these beautiful mums in a 9 inch pot for $6.97. trust me these are big, you will not find these at those box stores. there will be no holds, reserves or pay ahead and pick up later on these. it's first come first served. so don't miss out on this. there is no sense in both of us being crazy. just look at those pictures again these things are huge.

Do you Like mums? Wondered how to better your chances on getting them to come back next year?
Whether they are in the ground or you choose to leave them in there pots, here's a couple tricks and tips to over winter your plants and better your chances of getting your mums (Chrysanthemum) to come back next year.
Freezing is not the enemy of your mums, Ice on the roots are. So if planting in the ground make sure that you plant them in well drained soil. After your mums have died back, cut back the dead foliage and cut the main stalk back leaving 3 to 4 inches above the ground. Next mulch them heavy, with what ever you have. This will help them from freezing and thawing. In the spring after your last frost date, start watering to promote growth.
If you choose to leave them in their pots, trim back foliage, cut main stalk back to 3 to 4 inches, and make sure the soil is dry. Now put your potted mum in a dry area, such as your out building or garage, but it does not need to be warm. Start watering after last frost.

Got a neighbor that's driving you nuts? Thinking of building a fence? Why not grow one? These are green giant arborvitae, they grow 1-3 ft a year and can grow up to 40 ft.tall. I only have 40 of them available. $8.00 each while they last, no hold. We also have mums $7.00 or3 for $20.00. And lots of other plants.
