Award-winning journalist, cocktail aficionado, and Santa Barbara’s Poet Laureate George Yatchisin will show you how to use garden-fresh components to build incredible flavors. Growing Food in Small Spaces on Wednesday, April 1, at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 909 N. La Cumbre Rd., Santa Barbara.

Make the most of the garden plot you’ve got. Christy Wilhelmi from Gardenerd will share her tried and true methods for growing vegetables and herbs in small spaces. Learn about biointensive methods, planning
strategies, and planting techniques.

Christy specializes in small-space, organic vegetable garden design, and empowers people to grow their own food, to be more self-reliant, and to reduce pollution and waste, one garden at a time. She grows 50% to 70% of her family’ s produce in her southern California garden of less than 300 square feet!!

Join the Santa Barbara County Horticultural Society for an evening with local farmer, artist, and naturalist Ariana Palmisano Rose.

Ariana manages over 200 species on less than one acre using hand tended, biological gardening techniques. At our March meeting, she’ll be sharing her secrets for maximum blooms with minimum effort.
