Did you know that much of Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties are located in a so-called WUI Zone? Homes built within the Wildland Urban Interface require building materials that harden a home to help defend against wildfire. This Santa Cruz Green Builders project we passed by today on the West Side features a variety of building materials that mitigate the risks, including Marvin Ultrex Fiberglass windows and doors, JamesHardie fiber cement siding, and a special composite window trim.

The vibes are up at our 310 Coral St shop where we’ve been making steady progress on a remodel of our showroom. More products to touch and feel, better lighting, a heater for those cold winter days, and a streamlined layout that makes shopping for windows and doors easy and less daunting.

Last week the team at installed all of our new steel frames and the island design center. Next up: the finishing touches go in.
