See you at this year’s California Masonry Council Summit & Expo on April 30?

Don’t miss two panels featuring Jeanne Chen, FAIA, Principal, alongside an incredible lineup of architects and colleagues.

The first panel brings together award-winning architects to share notable brick-focused projects. Jeanne will present nationally recognized projects at Carnegie Mellon University, UCLA and UC Riverside and describe what drove their unique use of masonry.

The second panel focuses on the Design-Build process, highlighting the UC Riverside School of Business—recipient of an Award of Distinction at DBIA-WPR 2025 and recently recognized with a Best in Class Brick in Architecture Award (Thin Brick).

Looking forward to a day of ideas, connection, and inspiration with peers across the AEC community.

This Saturday, John Ruble, FAIA, Partner at Moore Ruble Yudell, will co-lead a special Docomomo International Conference tour exploring the works of Charles Moore in Los Angeles with Jeffrey M Chusid, Associate Professor, City and Regional Planning, Cornell University.

The tour highlights four remarkable projects designed during Moore’s influential years teaching at UCLA (1975–1985): the Beverly Hills Civic Center, Moore’s own residence at Selby Condominium, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, and the Leland Burns House—each reflecting Moore’s unique ability to capture the genius loci of Southern California.

Hosted as part of the Docomomo International Conference, this tour offers a rare opportunity to experience these iconic works firsthand while discussing their lasting influence on architecture and place-making.

Topping it off at Roosevelt Elementary!

Yesterday's beam-signing ceremony marked a major milestone in the transformation of this beloved Santa Monica school. Seeing students, teachers, and the community come together to celebrate progress reminds us why we love designing schools right here in our hometown.

Onward and upward — we can’t wait to see this campus come to life. 💙

We’re proud to be part of the team helping bring this vision to life in collaboration with: , , , , , Turpin & Rattan Engineering, , and Element Consulting

After nine months of recovery following the devastating Palisades Fire, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pacific Palisades has reopened its doors, offering hope and homecoming for its parish community.

While the church building itself miraculously remained undamaged, the surrounding property suffered significant loss. The congregation’s return marks a moving chapter of renewal—anchored by faith, resilience, and care.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Humanities and Social Sciences Building Repair has been honored with the 2025 Preservation Design Award for Craftsmanship/Preservation Technology from !

Our team including Historic Architect .create , , , , Willis Construction collaborated to replace the entire tower building façade with new curtain wall precast panels. Because it is a historic building, the newly designed pre-cast wall system had to match the original system in all visual qualities, meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, and undergo environmental (CEQA), California Coastal Commission, and UC San Diego Design Review Board approvals. The University also wanted the new panels to meet or exceed strict performance criteria including improved thermal performance and weather resistance.

Completed in about 16 months, the new pre-cast concrete panel skin of the building is indistinguishable from the original system.

Selected by a distinguished jury of experts in architecture, engineering, planning, and history, this award recognizes the exceptional dedication and skill that went into preserving this landmark.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this incredible achievement!
