Sharif, Lynch: Architecture is a full service architecture practice focused on culturally resonant, idea-driven design at all scales. PRACTICE VALUES:
Smart syntheses of careful design research and best design practices nourish inspiring relationships between people and communities while elevating the qualities of the constructed world. With this in mind, our design approaches are informed by envi

ronmentally alert principles and related technological advancements. In turn these efforts are invigorated by progressively-oriented dialogs so that we may vigorously reassess conventional wisdoms. For example, beyond implementing ecologically-sophisticated construction techniques, or integrating smart building systems, we also speculate on how such interests serve conceptual and formal values. So, we ask questions like: what could climate responsiveness mean for building figuration, expression and posture? How could loose-fit building and program assemblies accommodate informality without forsaking the significance of formal excellence? Could flexible building envelopes help animate city life if layers are added, ore removed, depending on the weather? Additionally, our career-long engagements with both academic and professional realms, and our pivotal relationships with various cultural outlets underscore our commitment to the role of architects as engaged public intellectuals. Through editing, writing, lecturing, and engaging with the field as critics, creative directors, curators, instigators, moderators, organizers, planners, consultants, and peer-reviewers, we operate within a vital cultural network that nourishes our reflective, culturally-oriented practice. Super excited to get our hands on Jack Self’s ‘Mies in London.’

“I want you to go all the way,” Palumbo said. “I want the lot, inside and out. I want door handles, ashtrays, lettershoots.”

“Very well,” Mies replied, “I'll do it.”
