Tomato training day: I prefer the Florida Weave. My posts are set to 24” and I add a line of twine about once a week. It’s economical and makes it easy to pinch suckers: I pinch every sucker below the first flowers and some here and there to encourage airflow. You’ll notice that I also cut off any leaves that are near the soil to prevent disease and fungus. Now if only the nighttime temperatures were above 55 F degrees…

I finished harvesting the red of my garlic today and cleaned up the Georgia Flame (hard neck) harvest from two weeks ago...

I finished harvesting the red of my garlic today and cleaned up the Georgia Flame (hard neck) harvest from two weeks ago. I ended up with over 40 heads of each variety I planted: Georgia Flame, Music and Late California White. I’ll probably braid the CA White in about a week or so, and I will clean up and cure the Music in a couple of weeks, once it’s finished curing. I’m really happy with the garlic harvest this year. I think it was my best ever!
